Passing on sooooooo many potential franchise QBs will do nothing but get you fired in the NFL. A QB is a job keeper and time giver "rebuilding" can't happen without that centerpiece.

They told Tepper, we the experts don't need a franchise QB. We'll win games in the NFL with our smarts.

Justin Fields may be the straw that broke the camel's back. The owner and most fans wanted a QB and you said no. Idiot.

1.  It's been one day.  It's technically still "this week".  In fact it will probably be still "this week" for several more days now.

2.  That said, nothing is happening this week with the staff. 🙄

Injury or not, they're benching Sam to give Brady/Sean Ryan a chance to see what they can do with different bodies at QB. If it looks the same, then they'll fire the qb coach assistant or something.

Against the Steelers, you know Tepper watched that game. I don't understand the people chiming in about the Bears losing the game, doesn't matter. Fields did his thing in crunch time and had his team pumped. Getting better every week behind a worse line than ours and Allen Robinson as his only weapon.

Rhule has coached 25 games and some are ready to get rid of him ?
Whether he is the answer or not is still to be determined.

Jeez I guess I’m out of touch with how long it takes to rebuild a team and create a mew culture.

Well....reference recent college coaches coming up to the NFL. The average time before they are out of the league is typically short.

The most damning thing is actually that most of the college coaches that came to the NFL in the past 15 years actually started off their careers with success. Rhule....not so much.

In all fairness Rhule has never started his career off anywhere with success. That usually comes later. He also took B level college teams and made them decent but never top tier or against top tier. Chip, Pete and Jim all had either championships or final four BCS under their belts at the time of them coming to the NFL as head coach. Matt Rhule beat (one?) team listed in the top 25?

The ultimate mistake was giving him all the control but Tepper was in a no win situation there.

The reality is the team has no one to blame but the decision not to put a better oline Infront of Sam.  His poor performances can be directly tied to the oline problems.  How could they expect Sam to improve behind the line he has been playing behind.  And it only gets worse at this point.

Yeah that is not entirely true. Some may be attributed to the O-line but his poor play recently is not because of the O-line. The O-line doen’t cause him to throw interceptions or bad throws to open WRs.
It is just who Sam is. He isn’t a good QB. He is a backup.
Not all that is happening is on Sam. But some of it definitely is.

I think Tepper created that situation himself. Most experienced and knowledgeable owners typically don't hand over complete control, especially to someone with no experience.

I agree Matt Rhule didn't have that track record but that does beg the question, why did he get all that money and power without the track record?

Tepper deserves his share of the blame. Hurney as well. Hopefully Tepper will redeem himself after this off-season and cut ties with Rhule and his entire staff.

Plus, Teddy played far better in front of the same line(basically) and in the same offense.

That is as damning as anything.

Physical talent isn't enough in the NFL, for whatever reason, Sam just doesn't have the ability to process the what he is seeing real time on a consistent basis.

He is quite literally one of the worst I have ever seen at it. It's crazy.

The craziest part? There was three years of film showing the same thing under two different offensive coordinators.

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
