Tepper: Stop the Stadium from Being Overran on a Constant Basis

It is funny to blame the fans for selling their tickets when the franchise is unable to put a watchable product on the field with any consistency.

The fact that we are seeing more opposing fans is that we have had a winning season since 2017. How about you show me a current NFL team with a similar losing streak that isn't seeing fans not attend games.

My PSL’s were taken from me to make room for luxury boxes. I was then offered replacements that weren’t as good so I took the cash.   Honestly would have probably taken the cash regardless since my gut says Tepper has a new stadium within ten years making all existing psls obsolete. It also made the decision easy due to the fact that of the 14 years I attended games over there, we had five playoff seasons (8, 13, 14, 15, 17).  It’s hard to call 2014 a playoff season, but I’ll lump it in.  That’s a whole lot of money spent to watch a team that can’t even muster back to back winning seasons.

I will never purchase psl’s again. New stadium or existing stadium.

I renewed mine feeling certain they were smart enough to draft a QB one year and a LT the next

here we are.  I don’t blame you one bit and where your seats where, there is an on field large suite supposedly for soccer but it is typically overrun with opposing fans

To not tell you guys this was coming until after it was done and just prior to the invoices going out,  is the shittyiest thing I’ve ever heard of

this was the end zone Cam and the players gave ball away to  kids.

you are a lot smarter than me.  I may very end up turning mine as a default as I sure as poo am not paying to see a team with zero hope of scoring a first down much less winning.

Unpopular opinion:  This isn't David Tepper's fault.

The fact is that if PSL holders actually hung on to their tickets and went to the games, there wouldn't be any opposing fans in the stadium.  Unfortunately, PSL holders don't usually do that.  They are forced to buy the tickets, even if the product on the field is terrible.  Thus they are left with tickets to see a team play that isn't very good, so instead of showing up, they sell the tickets to recoup their money.

Yes, it would help if the team was good.  What would help more is if PSL holders would stop selling their tickets.

You've certainly done your part, good onya mate.

Curious, did the Panthers buy you out at the stated equivalent PSL price on their website...??  (which would be a lot more than the open market price)

I don't blame you for venting. Sometimes it helps to get things off your chest. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Tepper moves the team. He's not a southern guy and would probably prefer a northern city or a larger one. Toronto could be a destination for an NFL team.

He probably wouldnt care, but he would be the most hated man in the Carolinas if he did that. I would lead the way in that hatred.

The problem isn't the fans that are selling, it's that the team sucks. When the team is good you don't see this influx of visiting fans in the stadium because the PSL owners go to the games. In a bad year, they are trying to recoup their money by selling to whoever will pay the most, which is often a visiting team's fan who really wants to see their team in person.

The blame lies with Tepper but it's because he has fielded a shitty team for 4 straight years, thus forcing the fans away.

Wow, it has been four years. Dayuuum that is sad to think about. We had some down years with the Big Cat, but no four year droughts.

Not even close. Around 35% of their listed value.

He doesn’t need to worry about the PSL owners and fans; especially here in Carolina. You get a winner in here and the fans will come, even if the current fans are replaced. You don’t go into the offseason trying to get a good ole boy like Delhomme; aka someone who will bring the same inconsistencies were used to.

Even with Jake, this state as a whole has never really cared about the panthers. You need a true game changer, and marketable player

People in NC in general are not big football people college Basketball is king and where people spend their time and money. I am from there, but now live in SC. Since my move here I have noticed that football is a way bigger deal down here and people love the Panthers alot - some Falcons, but the Panthers own this state more so than NC where there are some Redskins fans spattered around ENC where Charlotte is just as far as DC.

Move the team to Raleigh, where real fans would show up. Nothing but wine and cheese bankers in Charlotte that don’t give two shits about the Panthers.

This. People in NC know absolutely nothing about hockey largely, but the Canes games are electric. Of course this would take out alot of SC where there are legit fans. Id argue that SC people love the Panthers more than the Charlotte/WNC people.

The NFL is full of fraudlent fans. By fraudulent I mean fans who just pick a team for no other reason than they are good or they follow a player - Bucs. It is so stupid and annoying as a fan who chose the team closest to me because it means something when your region gets on the map.

If he moves the team, he moves the team. At this point, I don't know if it would bother me in the slightest. I do know I would just quit watching the NFL if that happened.

I would be incredibly sad. The Panthers were born the same year I was, so I have always been a fan. Im with you though, the NFL would be meaningless to me then. Lots of golf would be played

Never will happen and makes absolutely no sense.  Canes games are game right now b/c the Canes are good.  There is no inherent "betterness" of that market

Dumb argument for moving the Panthers from the largest market in the Carolinas.

The team is not going to move to a smaller market in the same state.

    • KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
    • Solid and fair assessment.   I will say, one of the big things I noticed yesterday was that he wasn't shy to step up into the pocket in the face of pressure.  He's trusting the IOL.  And they took care of Chris Jones yesterday.  We had clean pockets but also good success rate vs. pressure which just hasn't been the case with Bryce.   If he has more confidence the OL gets it done and he can navigate and step up for throws, that's huge.  It's one of the biggest things that's held him back.  He was previously bailing quickly and just too easily throwing away or making dead plays.     He was finding his 2nd to 3rd reads within structure/without bailing in the pocket.  That was nice to see, as much concern I have with him.  And the overall limitations will always be there. Time to back it up this week against the Bucs.
    • Suddenly the Cowgirls look like our best chance for a win remaining. I think the Bucs are playing better than the Falcons of late.  Our lone game versus the dirty birds is in the ATL where we always struggle.  The Cardinals are marginally better than I thought they would be. We are not beating the Eagles, they are starting to roll. I'm saying two at most, next week at home versus the Bucs and the Cowgirls.
