They are cuffing Darnold too much.

Yea, he's bad.  But at this point you just have to let him throw.  Whatever happens, happens.  But we aren't going to win the game with 3 yards and a cloud of dust in the run game.

I want to agree with you, but I don't think it's them doing that to Sam.  I think Sam is doing that to himself.  He has slowly regressed over weeks to the point that he doesn't trust anything he sees and often defaults to checking down and/or throwing it late, leading to injuring WRs or picks.

He can't be trusted to throw it because he doesn't even trust himself.  This is the worst offense I can ever recall us running - he needs to sit down.

If a quarterback holds the ball too long and gets pressured it counts the same as if an end comes unblocked and gets there in 1.5 seconds. Eye test shows pressure stats are misleading.

Eye tests also show those pocket numbers are misleading. He is consistently pressured in 2 seconds of dropping back.

Doesn't mean Sam is good btw. He's not.

Yeah, meanwhile TB is lighting it up in Denver vs. the Cowboys w/some deep throws.  Starting to wonder if the problem last season was the Panthers coaching staff and not TB after all.

I would MUCH rather have Teddy than Sam. At least Teddy is an actual QB. IDK what the hell Sam is. He’s awful.

You guys do realize just how bad PJ must have been in practice to not play?  Think about it.  What player has Rhule shown more loyalty, given more opportunities to?

Not long ago we used to say all we wanted the O to do was not turn the ball over... That's why PJ isn't playing

I think it's more of Rhule and Fit bet it all on Sam and are in denial.

You are full of poo

hiw many tickets have you bought in the past 25 years, I’ll wait

many of us lived through Jimmy Clausen a d worse

They have trotted a piss poor product on the field and want PSL holders to pay for it again. There is only one fuging oline man on the field that’s worth a damn and a qb nobody else wanted

and Tepper got ‘his guy’ as coach

the PSL holders is the reason Tepper can get away with this garbage. He is making money either way something needs to be done about that or you still be getting the same poo you always have cause the owner is banking in money either way.

    • Yeah and he succeeded at an even higher level in LA with an even better surrounding cast. Goff is a guy that isn't really able to dramatically elevate players around him but he can make a good situation even better. He is capable of that. Some QB's aren't. I am not sure Dak is able to do that and he is in a similar "class" as Goff, IMO.
    • i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know.  back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments.  i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.
    • I think he is just drawing a DC to them line and that's about as far as his thought process went. It makes almost no sense outside of that. Also, it doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh or Seattle at this juncture either.  I think our "veteran" pool is basically gonna be the Dalton/Flacco tier or the "pick your poison" options of young busts(Jones/Z. Wilson) or wild, TO prone gunslingers(Darnold/Winston/etc). We have the option to pursue I genuinely believe(depending on the way the rest of this season goes), we either draft a QB in the top 10 or resign Dalton. Outlier third option on taking one of the wild gunslingers that Dave feels like he can work with.
