I can see that Odell wasn't a good fit for Cleveland and it is questionable whether it's Baker's fault or Odell's.  I predict he ends up playing the year out in GB.

It just seems to be the team that can use him the most.

Agreed. I think Smitty is off on this one. Baker is not Brady but he’s tailor-made for their offense. Beckham was a bad fit from jump. It’s more of the organization’s fault for making the trade without understanding the player or the potential fit or lack thereof.

I can see him ending up in GB or NO (though their QB situation is worse than Cleveland’s at the moment).

I still remember him sitting on the bench beside Jake on the guy's worst day ever in football (on his birthday to boot) and just trash talking him like a borrowed mule. I'm sure he was "just joshing" and "just busting his chops" but it was still one of the most asshole things I've seen someone do in life.

And if you don't have Delhomme, then nobody was going to believe in a short, junkyard dog of a wide receiver enough to just feed him until he became an all star. Smitty will always be a dog that will bite the hand that feeds him.

Yeah - he said something like “I like you as a person but not as a QB.”  And you could tell by Jake’s expression that he didn’t see the humor in it.  Smitty was a great player…but he’s a bad human being.

Mayfield has all the physical talent but his head isn't into it...i.e. too many BS commercials for one.... Darnold is the same...minus the commercials.... My Browns brothers said OBJ....when he actually did play, he had plenty of drops... his dad didn't include that sht on the tapes..

Totally.  Smith was a horrible teammate and is a terrible person.  Not sure how many more people he has to sucker punch, not sure how many more flag football refs he has to scream at and not sure how many cheap shots he has to take about current players like this before everyone pretty much agrees.

I would have to say that you clearly have not met the man.

Smith is an angel of a human. My sister was a higher up with the Ravens during his time there and I was fortunate enough to get a few FaceTimes with him. The guy is absolutely one of the best men off the field you will ever meet.

That being said, he does not mince words and will verbally drag your ass if he has a reason for it.

I personally worked for/with smitty for over two years.

Despite your ‘facetimes’. This is false. He does not need a reason and has mental issues - has said so himself.

University of Utah kept a lot of poo under wraps for him, people just don’t know about, and he ruined a man’s life by blinding him and crushing his face. Pretty sure you can find just about any ‘guy off the street’ that’s better as a person.

He’s a great player but don’t get it twisted, if you want to keep convo in a positive direction when it comes to smitty, best to stick with football.

89 even has admitted he is an asshole.  What more do you need.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
