Offensive Line Grades - yep

I'm reminded of a quote from the John Fox era before a Falcons game:

"We're going to run it until we get a first down, no passes."

This Falcons team is also bad at stopping the run, and Sam is good at throwing interceptions. Seemed like an obvious plan to run it like crazy and it worked.

It's a breath of fresh air for the moment but I am reminded of our assumptions on the oline after weeks 1 and 2 compared to weeks 4 through 7 when we all realized what reality was. I need to see a few more games like this minimum before I have confidence in this. We only get to play the Falcons once more this season.

We're basically just where most Panthers teams have been. We need to control the ball by running and safe passes, and our defense needs to generate turnovers and 3 and outs. That's all well and good when our o-line is more powerful than the opposing d-line, like with the Falcons. The problem is when we face a big d-line that can stuff the run and force us to pass. That's when captain interception, Sam/PJ, will wreck us.

You have to keep some semblance of a running game even if it's not very effective to keep the defense from teeing off with pass rush. This is just basic Football 101.
