The people calling that a hospital ball are just repeating a term they've heard and have no idea what a hospital ball is.  There is going to be a deep safety on most plays.  He didn't lead him into it and he didnt have to reach or stretch for it.  The safety came from deeper down field.  In no way a hospital ball just a football play.   They will happen from time to time.

That was not a hospital ball. The defender was not in front of him. Stop being stupid just because you hate Darnold.

It should have been a penalty. The rule was put in place to protect defenseless receivers regardless of clean hit or not.
