Does anyone still seriously think Jeff Davidson calls a good game?

Yea and Henning has come full circle. Kicking our asses and showing us why Fox is a dumbass. FYI Henning also uses TEs now.....

Henning didn't kick our ass because he's a great play caller, he kicked our ass because our defense played like ass. I'm sure that's somehow Jake's fault though.

alright guys here's the play

steve, I want you to run a go route. don't worry about that safety over the top, THIS time he won't double you.

Moose, you're the slowest person on the team, so I want you to run a 15 yard dig, and make sure you telegraph your cut for 5 yards so the corner/linebacker/defensive tackle covering you can jump the route.

Jeff, we're going to send you straight up the seem. Surely your 5.40 speed will get you open.

Jake, don't worry about the protection problems. Yeah, they're getting to you by rushing three, but this time will be different. Make sure to take a seven step drop and wait for a defender to fall down.

Alright, break!

Oh, what do you do Deangelo? uh, I dunno, just block or something.

Moose is not the slowest person on the team, Jarrett is. I would back Rosario and Barnidge in a foot race against Jarrett anyday.

Not true. Those comeback routes were just horrible last night....Jarrett ran them poorly and the CB knew the play.

Jarrett is faster than Moose. His size and lank makes him look slower....watch Jarrett run a deep route and watch Moose. Jarrett gets better seperation and is b/c he is slightly faster.

If you say so. Jarrett looks slow as hell to me, especially coming off the LOS, which is critical in the NFL. Usually, Steve Smith beats his guy with his first step when he's one on one.

I honestly think that we should run no huddle. I'll get my flamesuit on cause i'm about to hear about Delhomme being terrible and Moore needing to play but Jake when running no huddle is way better in my opinion and when he called the plays last week we ran more than 12 times with Williams. Call him whatever you want but it seems like he has more sense than our HC. And actually tries to do whatever it takes to win even though he fails alot. With the way our O-line was run blocking I think running no huddle would have worked last night. Cause they weren't pass blockin worth a poo and I don't think Jake or any Qb could have done very well with the shitty O-line play when pass protecting or the silly ass plays that were called at the wrong time when the run was successful.

keep in mind the seperation comment was in comparison to Moose.

Moose is not great anymore, but he's still getting open more often at 36yrs old than Jarrett is in his early 20's. That fact alone should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the Carolina Panthers WR corps. We have one playmaker and that's it.

Does anybody seriousl think Davidson is not just calling what Fox wants him to call? We all thought Henning was the problem then he leaves and remembers how to call a game. Fox is the problem. He needs to go.

How do you see the process working in the actual game? Lay it out for us all, so we can get on the same page.

Moose is simply playing more.....that is it. Granted, both are medicore at best right now when it comes to being a recieving threat. In the grand scheme of things arguing which sucks less while as a passing threat is probably a waste of our time.

Let's end this bickering and bash the coaching together.

I will say one more thing...there is a very good reason why Moose is playing more and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that reason is.

Sure, he has good plays, but his calling is atrocious and his adjustments are non-existent. Why on earth is he putting the game on Jake's arm? When it's first and goal from the seven, why throw three times? Why throw when it's second and goal from the eight when the run is what got you there?

I'm really starting to think he's a weaker link than Crossman.

My .02 - I honestly believe that Fox's conservative philosophy and Jake's crappy QB play are making Davidson's playcalling look worse than it really is. That call on 3rd-and-1 was a great call if it was only executed corrrectly. It's hard to be more creative with the playcalling if one part of your offense (passing game) is as limited as ours. Davidson has to make chicken salad out of you-know-what for now until we either change the HC or get a decent QB. And there is absolutely no way that Davidson can be a weaker link than Crossman; at least we played better offensively last year. Crossman's ST has been crappy for the past few years, particulary in kick coverage and returns.
