So, because you weren't part of that crowd it didn't exist? You twisted the twist. That is tough work.

No, you were implying the huddle was overeacting and changing course to quick on Sam.   I was reminding you that everyone doesn't fall into that narrative.

Sam Darnold has been Sam Darnold his entire QB career.  Same flawed QB essentially from USC to Carolina.

Dang dude. I said. "We started 3-0 and folks were happy. Then we lost 4 in a row, and here we are". I never said overreacting. That's you putting words in my mouth.

I  get it. You don't like Sam. And I say, it is still too early for that. And you have a problem with that.

I also said; Agree to disagree. But that wasn't listened to either.

"There was happiness. A few losses later. This place is up in arms."

You literally didn't type it out.  You implied it.

You can think anything you want.  But if you post your opinion on something, you should be able to handle that a certain percetnage will agree and disagree.   You can think Clausen was owed a second season.  You post it here, people will respond with their own opinion of the statement.   That is one of the primary funcitons of the message board.

Sam is very likeable.   He has proven for 4 straight seasons he isn't a starting QB though.

You keep quoting me like you are going to use some Jedi mind trick and I'll all of a sudden agree with you? It is not going to happen. I am not in "Burn it down mode" like so many Huddlers.

I've seen this Offense work. I'll wait this year out, and see where it goes before I jump off that cliff.

I appreciate your Trading Places reference but my goodness can we please stop with this. Sam Darnold is playing the same way he has going all the way back to USC.

The 11-3 Trojans, who ended up ranked 12th overall? That was Sam's last year at SC. Or going back further to 2016, where they were 10-3 and won the Rose Bowl over Penn? I wish he had the same connection he had with his team (and fans) then, than he has here.

For a team game like football, the QB get more credit, or blame than they  usually deserve. But that's football.

As for how he is treated here? I have no answer, or at least not one I'm willing to say out loud. You don't temp fate with the "Candy Man" mystique

24 starts at USC - 22 INTs, 21 fumbles

Almost a guarantee he would throw a pick and put the ball on the ground every time he took the field.

Sam would probably play better than Dak. People have always trashed the QB here but never trashed the Coordinators or coaching. Somehow it's always the QBs fault. What legit coaching staff goes into a season with backups at every position on the offensive line but one? Then what coaching staff bring a project QB with zero back up plan into a season? I said well maybe they know something I don't. Well I guess they don't.

Sam's a better Qb than Dak but the Panthers are holding him back.

Yep think I've heard it all at this point.

He's always been turnover prone. He had 36 in 27 games at USC. That has clearly followed him to the nfl unfortunately and it is biting us here now. The connection to the fans isn't the issue taking care of the ball is.

    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
