I would like to say I wrote this but another Jet poster did and believe me I feel his pain... LOL.  
Sigh....Hate to say it, but this team officially entered orbit around planet Gasetite Sunday evening. Sunday's performance was indicative of some (familiarly) deep rooted issues here, not just X's and O's. It is becoming clear that the GM and HC/CS have absolutely no idea what they are doing, no idea how to prepare, no idea how to adjust, and most concerning, no idea how to handle their players & roster. This team comes out unprepared and indifferent every game. They are behind 10 or 14-0 every week before you blink which is game over for a team that cannot score in Q1. Remember back in the latter days of Rex's regime when they had Tony Sparano as the OC, and they were held scoreless (or had no td's, some crazy thing like that) during an entire 4 game PS? Even though it was the PS, it was a harbinger of things to come because those teams were horrific. This is as bad or worse even. Come on, a professional football team scoring no points in the first quarter of 6 consecutive games? How is that even possible? Not a single INT by this pathetic defense in 6 games, how is that possible? Getting shut out against a lousy QB and lousy team, giving up 54 points to a rookie QB after 2 weeks to prepare, and the most aggregious thing in my opinion besides the whole Mims fiasco, is/was the lack of response to the Judon abuse of Zach Wilson. This team looked like the NY Rangers after the Tom Wilson thing, spineless cowards with no balls whatsoever. I would have taken a 15 yard penalty and ejection to slam Mac Jones to the ground or something in retaliation. A statement had to be made, and it was - the NYJets are clueless, spineless, and gutless. Just do not understand how a professional sports organization can get so many things wrong, so many times with such consistency. It is mind boggling.

      Oh, no doubt those WRs have missed a lot this season. That's why I mentioned earlier that injuries have made things hard for the Texans the same way that they made it hard for Panthers last season. Addressing Nico: his head coaches were David Culley and Lovie Smith for those first two years... Who in the world is expecting a rookie WR under Culley or a second year WR under Lovie to light it up with THE Davis Mills? 😛 I'd say that that was a mutually beneficial situation for CJ and Nico rather than CJ being the only reason Nico got an extension as is occasionally implied here. re: stats - Was curious to how the numbers looked when comparing starts and got the following per start (removed the ones from Bryce's games that he came in as a backup to stay consistent with starts) Player Year Hrry Hits Prss Sacks CJ Stroud 2023 3.1 2.5 8.2 2.5 CJ Stroud 2024 4.1 3.2 10.5 3.3 Bryce Young 2023 2.4 3.1 9.4 3.9 Bryce Young 2024 3.4 3.6 9.3 2.3 Stroud has been hurried more in both seasons, but those seem to convert to hits a lot less often than with Bryce. That suggests to me that it isn't a matter of Bryce being taken down easily as much as it is him still trying to make a play happen vs. getting rid of it. This season, Stroud is being hit a little more often than 2023 Bryce but 2024 Bryce is still taking more shots. I think the big difference that we're seeing this season is that CJ is being pressured and hurried even more like you said, but Bryce is taking sacks as often as CJ was last season. Biiig difference for both guys. Another big difference (imo) is that the Texans nearly fielded a top 10 defense vs. Carolina's bottom 5 last season. Now, Carolina is dead last at #32 while the Texans' defense dropped into the bottom 10. That's going to force more bad situational football than good for the offense (as we've seen here in Carolina).

      I think his wrist injury is impacting his play. He ability to catch the ball declined thru the season from what I recall, tho maybe I'm wrong. Like every rookie he deserves a second year. And this hasn't even been a BAD year for a rookie receiver, just a disappointment for what we hoped he'd be (and tbh for what he was midway thru the year). We've had plenty of guys basically be unable to get on the field at all. I am concerned about our ability to develop receivers, though. We shall see how that goes...
