Joel Klatt heard Rhule may not be staying in the NFL, could be eyeing position at Penn State

Honestly, this might be best for everyone involved. It's just not working out for Rhule at the NFL level but he built two competitive programs out of schools that aren't traditional powerhouses to say the least. With the clout of Penn State behind him he might be able to build a legit contender. Then the Panthers can start over. Again. The question becomes then does Fitterer stay or go? I haven't seen much to hang my hat on him definitely staying.

I say let him stay. He hasn’t done much to the negative yet. Ya he inked the Robbie deal but we all know that came from Rhule getting his guy paid. He went overboard on CB’s. He obviously bought into Rhules program by going for so many later round picks but that was also a symptom of COVID.

The Canes did the exact some thing this draft, there were so many unknown in the class it was better to cast a wide net and know you’ll have some failures but also maybe find a gem or two. That said I trust the Canes staff and their farm team(s, junior league partners, foreign powerhouses they are drafting from) to develop their talent way way more than I do Rhule.

Let’s see how things go. Fitts is obviously playing into Rhule’s wants(which is probably what Tepper told him to do), for better or worse. If Tepper cans Rhule I’d like to see what Fitts can do with a real organizational structure and NFL coaching staff of his pick.

I don’t blame Fitts for our OL woes or Darnold. Rhule definitely claimed to be some kind of prophetic player developer. Offseason “Great OL blah blah blah.”, Darnold being Rhules guy. Giving Rhule this much control was a mistake, but the alternative was Hurney. Another last fug you by Hurney.

But ya, I haven’t seen enough one way or the other and his tenure looks like it will be tainted by Rhule, perhaps permanently.

Yeah, I just don't know how Tepper views him. A legit franchise orchestrated or just a guy to hold Rhule's hand and manage the books for him. If the former, then I'm sure he'd stay. If the latter then I'd expect him to follow Rhule out the door.

Ya that’s a very fair point.

Well you have to at least put picking up the option on Darnold on him I would think

I’m not a fan of OCs that come from systems with franchise QBs. Moore has Dak and Leftwich has Brady…Nagy and Pederson leave a bad taste and honestly probably are some of the main reasons that Bienemy is not a head coach

One thing both of them have going for them is the strength of their olines. That's hard to ignore as an OC and I think it would take someone who has seen the value of calling plays behind a wall rather than a sieve to get us focused on building a respectable line

If Darnold is/was truly Rhules guy I’d say no.  Now ya, you could say all these most likely “yes man” moves to Rhule are on him. He should have put his foot down and said no on the 5th year but how tied were his hands? We probably won’t ever know that unless Rhule goes and he stays.

    • Rhule was GM for 2020 and 2021/final say/total control/______/head cheese   Then afters years of trying to find a QB, trepper issued a order to get one at all cost. Even without BY fumble and after the rhule driving the draft/FAs(member erving and elf lollolols) fittererererer was no improvement.
    • Let him play when he is 100% healthy. Still room to learn and improve.
