Simple question….threads this week are terrible so I figured my turd thread would blend right in. 
 

Would you trade one of our two 5th round picks right now for Minshew on his rookie contract, to compete with Sam? Worst case scenario he is our backup QB this year and next on the cheap cheap (925k cap hit).

(He was traded for a 6th round pick to the Eagles before)

It's too late for that. The premise behind that argument was to setup a competition in the off-season. 

Instead Sam was given the reigns, a contract extension, and the freedom to not play much at all the entire preseason.

It’s never too late. Trade deadline is approaching. I dont see any way it would happen but it would make a ton of sense.

Too late for this. Wish they’d done it during the off-season. Minshew starting with Fields on the bench would have been fire

Wanted him over Sam, bump any thread and theres plenty of me saying the same over and over.  

Rhule was scared that Minshew would have won over the players and made the 2nd, 4th, 5th draft picks for Sam look like a waste.

If we were going with a vet QB again this year, my preference was to trade for Minshew or sign Trubisky.

Ditto. If CMC can’t breath some life back into this team in two weeks, it’s write this season off time. If it was me, I’d fire Rhule and his whole college grifter staff, put Holcomb in as interim and be done with it until the off-season.
