Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.

They already advised for him to have a longer career he can't take the constant beating as a LB'er. He needs to be moved around as he has been.

That's how you get the most out of his ability.

He was let go because he was out all camp, and did not take the vaccine.

Not excusing the cut, BUT there was a viable reason, the ONLY other non-vaccinated player was Miller, and guess what....he contracted COVID.

Team health stand-point they made the smarter decision, Perryman went on to get vaccinated so THAT he COULD be signed, same as Cam recently.

I'm not saying they didn't have a good reason to cut him, I'm just saying the guy balling out elsewhere after being let go is something that seems to happen a lot with the Panthers.

Again, we'll just have to wait and see on how that turns out.

The real Halloween horror show special.

5. LB Julian Stanford (44.6)
4. CB Keith Taylor Jr. (43.3)
3. LB Jermaine Carter Jr. (33.9)
2. CB Stantley Thomas-Oliver III (29.5)
1. LB Kamal Martin (28.8)

How do we spend a whole draft on defense and still have poo LB play

Oooo!  Pick me!  I know this one!

Likely because we haven't drafted a single LB.  What do I win?

Sunday was a hot mess from PFF's perspective, as you can imagine.

I'm not going to say much. One thing that I've been procrastinating about is how disappointed I am in Jermaine Carter. His replacement, while maybe not an immediate priority, must be placed on our things-to-do list. "Meh" appears to be his ceiling. PJ Walker was 3 of 14, making "erratic" seem like an understatement.

Something positive? Christiansen may have a future at guard yet. Our safety play has been solid.

Look at the crap if you want.

Rhule singled out and praised Ian Thomas in the presser. One of the few people he singled out for praise.

Maybe he's about to be traded in the Watson deal or cut, opposite man Rhule

I think the issue with Paradis is that the majority of the time he is actually holding his blocks fairly well but when he fails.....my God he fails so hard.

Paradis would probably still be an above average C if not for that injury making it harder for him to anchor. There's a reason Denver let him go after that. He's still presentable as a run blocker but a liability in pass pro and as you said, when he fails it's absolutely horrible (and sometimes hilarious). If he had good guards around him, I actually think he'd look okay but he doesn't and it just exacerbates everything. Our line doesn't seem to be the usual kind of suck; our players seem to mostly be in the right position and on the correct guys outside of some issues with stunts (but to be fair, that's the entire point of calling a stunt. to confuse the protection). There's not too many free runners relative to what you'd expect for a line at our level of suck from what i've seen. That's usually indicitative of a C doing what he should in regards to calling protections and all that.  The problem is they just cannot block the man across from them.

Jermaine Carter HAS NEVER BEEN GOOD!! IDK what y'all saw in that man lol y'all hype up anybody that cleans up a tackle 4 yards down the field

There were sources selling his stock around here. I guess I was fooled to think he could be a starter.

LB was a weakness even going into this season. It was the one area that wasn't addressed that well.

Now, do keep in mind that the 2nd leading tackler in the NFL right now was technically signed by us to fix some of those issues....but we cut him.

Yep. Said this repeatedly in the pre-season but everyone poo-poo'd it because they wanted to believe our LBers were something that they weren't and this team was ahead of schedule in terms of talent and depth. And that somehow last year's roster with a few upgrades was somehow Super Bowl caliber.

Wow. After people were praising Keith Taylor.

Because we did not, and have not drafted a true LB'er since Rhule has arrived. Chinn doesn't count.

I am so over this multi-positional crap. NFL players play better when you buy them on one position and they stay there.
We could draft the best best LB and Rhule would still want him to play more than one position.

Even still, they are a top 10 unit without anything but average LB's. That's an accomplishment. LB is a far easier upgrade to make than DE/DT/CB. I like where are defense is at and where it is headed.
