If the NFL is going to suspend him, they would have done so already. He hasn’t been charged with anything. The NFL can’t really do anything.

They don't have to suspend him right now. Houston isn't playing him. So the NFL can save face with the players union and allow its own version of due process without actually doing anything.

If he gets traded and it looks like for half a second that he will suit up and play AND there will be some negative PR, his ass will be on the list or he'll be suspended. The NFL is a brand and it will be protected at all costs. It's just business and we've all seen Roger will do what's best for the shield, all else be damned.

He won’t be suspended. He’s playing the second he lands in Carolina.

The NFL can do whatever TF it wants to do. It prints money. The NFL is the judge, jury, and executioner.

And Watson will help the NFL get money if he plays.

the NFL doesn't give a poo about Watson.  It still chews guys like him up and spits them out with ease.  They aren't hurting without him playing.

Could be. But if all of a sudden an advocacy group starts making a lot of noise about the claims and it gets some steam and goes viral, he's not going to be playing. That's what makes trading for him so risky. Public opinion is the only court that matters in cases like this.

The NFL needs Watson more than Watson needs the NFL. The NFL can’t even let guys like Randy Gregory, Kareem Hunt, Josh Gordon, and Richard Sherman go. That’s just a couple names.

The NFL doesn't care if those guys ever play a snap again.

They haven't needed to do anything because he's content to stay away and the Texans are content to let him. The commissioner's exempt list was pretty much created for situations just like this so that the NFL doesn't have to wait for the legal process to play out before they take action. It's on the CBA. The NFLPA later took it to arbitration and lost. The exempt list is definitely her to stay at least until the next CBA is negotiated.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
