Would you draft Sam Howell at 10?

He’s sneaky athletic and can run and has a cannon of an arm.   He tries to do too much at times so decision making has been an issue but he’s a great kid and willing to be coached.

You just described Darnold coming out of college (and the jets)….so no.

    • No one is saying that Bryce literally can't throw an out route, or even push the ball 40 yards downfield. However, at the NFL level many of passes are lacking the VELOCITY to get the ball to the receiver ahead of good DB.  I think we all would agree that BY looked a lot better yesterday. He placement was spot on for most of his down field throws. But, our passing game would be sick if BY could "consistently "connect on a deep post, a deep in-route, or a seam route deep downfield the middle of the field. That said, we're all hoping he builds on his solid performance against the Chiefs. It really would benefit the franchise if he could live up to his draft position and allow us to use the 2025 draft to rebuild the defense.
    • If Dan and Souleman both disagreed, they might have turned Fitterer.
    • Sorry, but it’s been reported by Person that Dan was in agreement of passing on the trade. Souleman was the only dissenting voice, likely because no soon to be $30M non-QB ever gets that much. Even the awful GM Bill O’Brien paid less for Tunsil than what we turned down for Burns because the Texans got two picks back.
