Honestly they aren’t bad. Their defense is not as staunch as it was last year and I have no idea why they start merzlikins. Their O looks legit though vs. most of the league, their lines rushes have been pro. But like you said, they are probably a notch below us.

Yeah, this is a Columbus team that gave Carolina fits last year, although they look nothing close to who they were last year.

Never expected Andersen to come in and play so well. I know it is early, but he is on pace for a career year.

Ned on the other hand isn't looking too hot in Detroit although they don't have the best team in front of him.

With the way the Canes are currently playing, this is easily a Cup contending squad.

Maybe they actually knew what they were doing when they let Dougie and Ned go?

Maybe Ned actually was a product of playing behind our good defense.

Gonna be honest about TDA too. Overall he is not as good as Dougie, but I like what he brings to the team just a little bit more. I've been saying for years that the Hurricanes needed some attitude and toughness. HOPEFULLY he can keep his poo together.

I think we're seeing a powerplay that's operating on much better puck movement and unpredictability.

When Dougie was running the pp it was either going to be a blast from the blue line or he was gonna be the primary assist guy.

Dougie's point streak was impressive, but that's not actually better for the team.  Ideally if we can have better offensive numbers or pp numbers and points are spread around then that means we're more unpredictable and harder to defend.

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
