That’s something you can always change

I’ve been a fan of this team since 97’ and I’m not going to listen to some internet keyboard warrior tell me to change team. I’ve spent more money on this team just this season alone than you have during your lifetime as a fan.

Yes, but you don’t go from horrible and rebuild mode to magically being contenders.

You build into being a good football team inbetween that.   And this staff isn’t on pace to even start addressing the OL/QB until year 3.   Which again, takes time.  It’s a poor schedule/plan.

I agree. Im not here to argue if they are doing a rebuild correctly. Im just here stating that we are in a complete rebuild. Maybe our rebuild is taking longer than it should. But I think that is just because of how they prioritized things. They put the defense first and addressed other holes with "glue and tape" players. Some may stick and some may not. I see them making fixes to OL in year 3 but developing OL takes more than just bringing them in. So that could take another year maybe 2. So yes you can definitely say that even if a 3 year rebuild is how long it is supposed to take, we are behind. We all know how hard it is to hit on a franchise QB. We were more or less praying Darnold was the guy... not expecting.

You guys want to see the perfect blueprint and/or the definition of blueprint? Check out Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s Buffalo Bills. Made the WC in their first season up there. Been in the playoff 3 out of 4 seasons before this season. Right now, they are a legit super bowl contender. Some fans think that in a rebuilding mode, you actually have to “suck” and “lose” games. Some teams like Buffalo and KC just chose to win games during their rebuilding process.

The only true unacceptable loss was the Eagles game. Panthers should have dusted those guys and blew it in the 4th quarter. The Vikings are a quality team and I expected that to be a tough game. The Cowboys look very solid this year and I think many of us expected that to be a tough game to win even before the season.

It's not even just that they lost these last three games, it's how they looked while they were losing. They are losing in a miserable way. Dropped passes, turnovers, defense getting destroyed late in games, 3rd quarter meltdowns, it's just ugly and embarrassing.

We are not trending in the right direction. That could change, but things are looking extremely bleak right now.

I disagree with this entirely.

We are clearing dead cap, cleaning up the books, bringing in guys on trade that can help us now, and in the future, as well as making moves during the draft to get younger, faster, and trying to collect picks to prevent future massive cap issues.

We are doing it correctly, and had we landed Matt Stafford or Watson (pre abuse), I believe that every person on this board would be singing a different tune.

They are trying, and not doing anything too stupid...that in itself is a breath of fresh air.

Pretty much this.

I didn't expect a winning season. But I also didn't expect to be on a downward trend this season. Rhule and Co. look legitimately confused after the past 3 losses. They have regressed.

It's not the rebuild I am concerned with. It's the incompetence of the coaching staff and ownership that leaves me concerned for the future.

Okay, that works. Now tell me about the product you have seen on the field for the first 6 games of the season.

If you don't want to pay to support the Panthers then you quite literally do not have to. It is your choice.

I understand you as a Panthers fan might buy a jersey once every two years. I’m not like you. I have PSLs and am very happy to have them for longer than you have been born.

I didn't go into this season expecting a winning record...even or slightly below is where I pegged this team...about where they are now.

This team has both put dog poo on the field the majority of the last decade, and also made mind numbing FO mistakes to cap it off.  At least we cut down on the FO miscues.

I don't like where this team is, but when Marty Hurney leaves...usually there are piles and piles of poo that have to be cleaned up...we are doing that now.

Next year is the test.

Thanks Doc great post. Tepper has stated *multiple* times this is going to be a several year rebuild. We got spoiled by the potential of what we *can* be versus what we truly are. It’s obvious now Sam isn’t a franchise qb and it is what it is. We’ve shown the aggressiveness to go get players with a ton of cap space…I’m willing to trust Rhule and Fitt this off-season to make the correct fixes.

We were really far away with the roster Rivera left. While there have been questionable calls Rhule is a solid coach. He’s still learning the NFL hence the 7 year contract. Y’all are absolutely crap posting and losing your minds over a team that realistically wasn’t a playoff team from the jump. Let the process play out and enjoy the growth. Look at Buffalo…we’re building much like they did and now they’re one of the NFL’s best teams. We’ve got a smart well connected front office, a progressive deep pocketed owner…we’re going to figure it out. Step away from the ledge and maybe quit the huddle for a few days. Gain perspective y’all and view this as a building year. Hell if CMC plays the last 2 games I believe we win and are 5-1 but those are the breaks! Relax y’all!!

Where have you been over the last two decades when we have been losing consistently?
