every team has a night like that, glad we got it our of our system.  Might have helped if Melo had stopped trying to shoot himself out of a slump.

Hayward was missed..

his steadiness was missed in this game.. sometimes when the shots aren't falling for us - He is the guy to come in and get a solid elbow shot that is like 90% efficient for him.. i keep thinking he is the guy they might flip for someone at the deadline - but he is extremely valuable but at the same time over-payed.. lol

yep, we needed his veteran experience.

The Hornets are coming off the worst 3-point shooting performance in team history. I thought it was going to be one of the worst in NBA history, but boy howdy are there some bad shooting nights throughout the annals of recent history. The Nuggets had a game in 2012 where they attempted 22 3-point attempts and made exactly zero. The Rockets had a game last season where they took 45 3-point attempts to match the Hornets four makes. The Celtics had a 4-for-42 3-point shooting performance a few weeks ago, and that’s only one of two 3-point shooting performances that the Celtics have had this season that were worse that what the Hornets put out there Sunday night.

The Hornets will try to bounce back against a good but not great Raptors team that’s been all over the place this season. 

 

The Raptors play at one of the slowest paces in the league and they don’t turn the ball over much, which limits the Hornets transition opportunities. However, they don’t shoot well, so the Hornets will want to try to push off rebounds as much as possible to get into their transition offense. The Raptors play an iso-heavy style of basketball and don’t shoot the ball well on spot-ups, so the Hornets should be able to contain their offense if they do an okay job staying in front of ball handlers.

second Hornet player ejected in as many games.

Raptors shooting 64% from the floor and 70% from 3...lol.  They lead 39-27 while holding for the last shot of the quarter

also Bouknight has minutes in the first quarter.  Now, missing 3 players, he'll probably see more.

Last game wasn't good and this one isn't starting much better. The lads seem to be in a collective funk.

Toronto keeps it up in the second, and have an 18 pt lead with 4 mins to go in the first half.

still shooting 62% from the floor and now same for 3.

However, Bouknight has played 10 minutes and has 13 points.  

 

 

and we are 25% from 3....our shooting slump continues

Bugs come back, Terry with a great steal on an inbounds pass. Melo finally hits a 3, first in the last 2 games.

We're looking better but we've got to guard the shooters better.  We're trying to play inside against bigger guys and doing a better job of boxing out and getting arms in passing lanes, but we're leaving shooters open on a hot night for the Raptors.  But we're back in the game

Raptors are hitting everything Hornets putting up hero shots and barely playing defense. Looking like this one is already over. I know it's an empty arena and we're missing a few guys but yikes these low effort games make me think even if we get in the playoffs they'll put up another stinker like this.

damn.. i really thought we turned a corner as a franchise and these type of loses were behind us..

we gotta get our edge back.. cant afford to drop in the standings.. I thought this was supposed to be the easy streak of our schedule where we stack wins..
