As was said before, there's no point in getting all defensive because someone comes to a conclusion based on the probability of an outcome. The simple fact is that while its POSSIBLE for the panthers to hit some huge winning streak in the coming weeks, it's simply not likely. To recognize that isn't to be a hater, just a realist.

Someone mentioned that any team can beat any other team in the NFL, and that is no doubt true. But that is simply short term variance. If the Saints play the Lions one time, sure The Lions could win. If the Saints play the Lions 6 times the chances of the Lions winning 5 or 6 is dramatically lower because variance is less of a factor.

Even if we take out the edge that other teams have on us (lets face it, many teams coming up have statistical advantage on us) and that we have a 50% shot at winning each game (this is being very generous), we would still have to get incredibly lucky to win 5 or 6 out of 6 or 7.

So yes it is possible, just not very likely. I'm not a hater, just a realist. I love my Panthers.

1) i apologized to the douche, its over. 2) you just made my point. I dont mind your opinion. you said it wasn't likely. Fine, your opinion. That guy said was like "not a chance"-- and i said he was ignorant.

We play the Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Patriots for our last 4 games. That is the toughest stretch of games for anyone in the league. Except for the Giants, those are 3 out of the best 5 teams in the league. Right now I'd say..

1. Indy

2. NO

3. NE

4. Pitt

5. Minn

I think we can beat the NYJ, Phins, Bucs, and Saints. That will give us an 8-8 record. After that we are just going to have to be really fortunate.

the team that just got swept by cincy. yeah. i'd call them #4 too

This team is 4-5 not 1-8. And the season isnt over. so to say we aren't successful, is false. In our last several games we have been successful

the season's over for you guys, man, stop smoking the hash.

you have NO in your division and AT. they will take #1 and #2 seeds easily in your division.

There is a chance, albeit a slim one. I don't really see how it's only my opinion that the panthers winning 6 out of their next 7 is unlikely. Especially with the vikings, saints and pats in the pipeline.

Just take those 3 into consideration and forget about the other 4. For it to be considered LIKLEY that we can win all 3 games you would have to give the Panthers a huge advantage against any one of them. If you argued that the Panthers are just as good as these three teams (an argument I would like to hear substantiated) then you could safely say that the panthers have a 50% chance at winning. But to win all three the chances fall to 12.5%-not exactly something I would consider likely.

Once again thats leaving out the other 4 and giving the panthers the benefit of equal advantage when the teams play each other.

Look at it another way, if you said the panthers are way better than all 7 of the teams they play next and that they will beat any one of those teams 75%of the time (another pretty far stretch given our 44% current record), the chances of them winning 6 of them is around 17%. Thats pretty damn slim. So yea I think we can safely say that it's just not likely.

But its possible! Go Panths.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
