Lol ok. People so far were wrong about Fields, and you were wrong about Darnold

I'm yet to be wrong about Darnold.

I said build him a competent line and I think his ceiling is between the 12th and 15th best QB in the league.

I see no possible improvement out there unless we get Minshew or Russ.

There is no QB I see in the draft class or anyone we could get at the NFL level that's an improvement.

You’re one of those that can’t be wrong, I see. Fields could turn it around too, as he’s a rookie. Something Darnold is not

Can you be wrong about a rookie QB going into his 5th start?

One that wasn’t even groomed to be the starter….and needs an offense built around his skill set?

Oh I can be wrong.

Right now I see no answers out there.

Even if there was an answer I don't think that guy could succeed behind this line.

Mitch, Menshew, etc were all better than Darnold.  Other teams just rightfully viewed them as backups.  But they have been better QBs than Sam.

Or we could of drafted a QB and tied to build around and grow one.

we handled the QB situation as poorly as possible.  Sam is horrible with time and protection…so the give him a good OL narrative doesn’t have backing.

I don’t think so. I was moreso playing along to @Catsfan69post to be honest. I don’t think we’re in anyway close to figuring out how Fields story will go. We pretty much know Sam’s, as he’s been in this league 4 years now, and he hasn’t looked any better.

You think Mitch is?

I was all for Minshew.

I wanted to tank last year of course my picks don't look great so far.

Never saw a QB be so bad when he had protection.  That proves to me that his time with the Jets definitely broke him.

It turned him into some kind of Pavlov's Dog where the Constant Pressure he got with NY was so normal, he ended up not being able to function without someone in his face or chasing him.

For sure.  Just simply pointing out fields has not had any bright spots thus far.   Like he looks completely lost.

If he looks like this after getting traded to another squad, and being in year 4, then I’m all for everyone on here proclaiming him a bust.

Really hard for me to critique rookies, as I’m a bit biased. We had a rookie QB come in and light up the league day one.

I think Mitch is a backup QB.  But yeah, he was a better QB in Chicago than Darnold was in NY.

Mitch Trubisky made Pro Bowl.

Bro I am not saying he is a bust but maybe just maybe the staff evaluated him correctly.   He looks completely lost as of yet.   Can he turn it around, sure but whatever it is they are doing with him isn’t working.  He is going backwards.   Somewhat relieved we didn’t choose him.  More pissed we didn’t get slater.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
