Hamstrings are a problem........and their tendons especially.........they are stubborn injuries slow to heal and can flare up in an instant if they get too tight and tweek again from jooking too much on the field........not to mention someone rolling up on it in a pile........

Football is such a rough game its hard to imagine anyone playing it at this level............

Do you understand how the contracts work for 1st round players?

Do you understand todays RBs are well aware of how their position is treated in this era? Top Rbs are not waiting till their contacts are up to get new ones. They will hold out midway threw till they are extended to guarantee they get their money. Zeke did it and Cmc was prepared to do it too. Its business, from that standpoint u cant really blame him especially after carrying the team offensively the prior year.

If he converted to WR he would be making a little more than Anderson and has a hell of a lot more upside. Not many RBs could do that and he was raised by a damn good one.

His body doesn't look ruined, yet. Not asking him to constantly be hit by and having to block 300 lbs guys would do wonders for his health. He is still the most talented guy on the team, by a stretch. It's time to have the talk with him and if he want's to remain at RB then I think it's a good time to start looking at options.

The notion it's wasted money is lame, it's wasted talent. It was the same with Cam, pissing away talent because the staff can't put anything decent around him while asking him to carry the offense and be the scheme.

I don’t think you move  talent who is a great RB to be maybe a good WR. If we don’t want him at RB trade him before the deadline

This and the silence from the team makes me think he reaggravated the injury. The hamstring injuries can linger for some time.

Well, I guess our 65 million dollar head coach and his hand picked staff need to figure out how to win a game in the nfl without their crutch

as for CMC, he is becoming an expensive sports car.  When it runs it’s fabulous, it just run often  and becomes  an expensive toy

wish him the best but I dont see him back until after the bye week a d unless Matt figured out how to win a Nfl game without hom, it wont matter

the team store is 75% his jerseys.  Someone else needs to step up

He already is a great receiver that plays out of the backfield. I would rather have him on the field then traded, with whatever the cap implications are.

If Curtis Samuels can do it when healthy, CMC can blow the doors off doing it.

It was stupid to extend him until after his 4th season...that's what we should have done...Marty didn't.

Yeah we basically ran our expensive sports car like we were in a destruction derby and now we're like oh sh*t. Sounds familiar huh?

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
