Take these guys out of MVP consideration

Repeat after me

Most Valuable player.

Not best player

Most Valuable player.

Turner is more valuable to the Falcons than Deangelo is to the Panthers. Period.

turner is a great back, but i think deangelo slightly edges him out. cuz w/o dlo we prob wouldnt be where we are at right now. i know we have stewart but deangelo has had a big hand in developing him.

now coach of the year should go to mike smith hands down!

This years MVP really is a toss up, there is no clear cut winner, just like there is no clear cut superbowl favorite.

I really couldn't say that any of the backs deserve it over the others. Carolina, Atlanta and Minny would not be where they are without their primary backs.

fug Peyton Manning, btw.

why is being on a losing team a disqualification -- he has the most passing yards -- is going to make a runb at marinos record -- and has done it with his biggest weapons on the injured list most of the year -- your logic is faulty --
i do think you should at least be on a winning team. but you do have a point, look at barry sanders those lions teams sucked but hes still in the h.o.f. im sure brees is still gonna be considered. but cry baby manning will probably get it:frown2:

maybe because if he is the MVP of that team and still can't pull out a winning record with all those passing yards then he isn't doing something right, plus with all those passing yards you would think he'd have the most passing TDs (the stat that matters) and he doesn't, also when there are QBs with almost as much yardage and/or more TDs on teams that will be playing in the playoffs or are atleast still alive in the playoff hunt those might be good reasons why he shouldn't be in the running

I guess the main reason it matters is this. With Brees, you guys finished in last place. Without Brees, you still would have finished in last place. So for this year, how valuable is he really?

I know but i try to stick to the actual meaning of the award.

"Valuable" often coincides with "best."

It won't be Williams; he just hasn't been the most valuable player. In fact, no player on the team is the MVP, yet so many of them have great stats.

This is a good thing. Why? Because that means:

1) The team has many good players.

2) The team is winning the games; not just one player.

Often times it does but certainly not this year.
