Take these guys out of MVP consideration

Both backs were a huge part of their respective team's success.

But Peyton is probably the winner, how can you deny his impact? 8 game winning streak (soon to be 9, the Titans don't have much to play for) and putting his team in a position to secure a wild card.

TD's >>>> yards

that is why williams is the best back in the league, better than AP and portis.

Turner, Williams, and TJones all score a lot, along with a lot of yards, that is why they are the best in the league

This might be the dumbest post in the whole thread...take the homer blinders off, there is NO WAY that DWill is better than AP. AP has the box stacked against him all year with 8-9 guys, due to the fact that Minn has no one even close to the level of respect that Steve Smith commands to draw safties away. Also, AP may fumble more, but thats because hes still learning that he doesn't have to go all the way on every play, and the fact that he's still learning the pro game and is already the best back in the game is downright scary. Other posters are also correct in saying that without AP, the Vikings easily go 6-10 this year instead of vying for the division. So, in short, thats why AP is far more valuable to his team than DWill, and is a better MVP candidate (another good stat to look at would be percentage of team's offensive yards gained by each player for the year, im sure AP is ahead of DWill). Next....

I'm glad you agree with me that AP is a better MVP candidate but I never said he's BETTER, so I don't agree with you there. I think they are equals, talent wise. We just never knew it last season with D-Lo. Now we do. We can thank Fox and Foster for that.

Good lord, homer. Peterson is far and away the best running back in the league, talent wise.

Well lets see:

Williams averages 5.4 YPC, Peterson averages 4.8

Williams has 20 touchdowns, Peterson has 9 touchdowns

Oh, and here is the good one:

Williams has 0 fumbles, (and one in his entire career) Peterson has 8 this year.

The only stat AP has over D-Will is that he gets more carries.

Even though I really like Williams and think he is having the best season at RB, I can't say he is the bes RB in the NFL. However, Peterson isn't even close to the best RB in the NFL. I'm sorry, you don't humble the ball the way he did in a big time game agaisnt an okay defense and be the best in the game. And those fumbles weren't from him trying to get the homerun run. It was sloppy execution. If I was a Vikings fan I would be demanding Chester get the start over Peterson this weekend.
