He had a very bad game and he has to play much better the next several weeks if he wants to remain the starter here. Accept it and stop trying to deflect. Even the guy who followed him over here from the Jets is more open about his faults than you who would rather make excuses.

Yeah.  I mean...I was so fug'n pissed at Sam for continuously (and stubbornly) throwing to his first read on an OUT instead of looking for other receivers who were more often than not....WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field.

Case in point, the final INT at the end of the game :

He had IAN THOMAS wide open there and didn't even look his way.   🤬

Instead, he tried to FORCE-FEED Robbie and threw the game-ending INT.

It was the 2 minute warning and had he thrown to Ian Thomas, who looked like he had room to run and maybe get a first down(or 2nd down and very manageable), there would not have been an INT and who knows how the game ends up.

Sam was doing so well early in the season by basically taking what the defense gave him.   For some strange reason, he stopped doing that in this game and this falls on Rhule and Joe Brady for not getting into Sam's face and nipping this crap in the bud.

I hope they did Postgame in the locker-room or in Rhule's office 'cause Panthers aren't winning ANY GAMES with Sam playing like a reckless Mofo.

Hopefully with CMC back, things will settle down a bit and maybe Sam will start checking down AND MOVING THE STICKS.   It's not as sexy as throwing the deep ball but the Panthers are in the business of trying to WIN GAMES, not Popularity contests or pleasing the fans who like the long-ball.

Basically CMC is a YAC god. When he racks up YAC Darnold can get away with throwing less, and that means less INTs. Our offense has to flow through CMC against the Vikings until they shift so much to his side that guys are getting wide open on the other side. Super easy for dumbass Brady to dial that up.

This is what I'm hoping for, too.

Plus, Rhule and Brady have GOT TO get in Sam's face in the Locker room or Rhule's office to tell him to stop force-feeding Robbie Anderson and FOCUS ON GETTING FIRST DOWNS (ala Ian Thomas wide open on that Game-Ending INT) and moving the chains(thus getting closer to the endzone).

Yes, we got Sam for being willing to throw the deep ball(and he has thrown many 20+ yard passes with success while the longer-bombs are still a work in progress) but checking down and letting the Receiver get YAC (and most likely another first down) is more important.

We should get CMC back this week…which is a big plus.   Defenses play us different.

that said, I’d probably call this a coin flip type game.  Either team could win.   Vikings will be one of the toughest games to date though.  They have a lot of problems on O to deal with.

this is one of the weeks you have to the offense show up and play well.  Can’t expect the D to dominate and put it all on them vs well built offenses.   Contain and limit.  Offense has to score points vs middle of the road defenses.

Right, I wasn't expecting the Eagles like that it was the Vikings in this 4 game stretch that was the one I was worried about as the Vikings always have talent especially on D and our games vs them are always bizarre poo.

OFC the Eagles game had its fair share of poo we haven't seen thus far either so maybe we're expanding our horizons.

I've noticed it since the first game. He tends to lock on to wideouts and barely look at anyone else. I'm not sure if this is something he's done his entire career or something the coaching staff is having him do to try to make the game easier for him.

Idk.  Rhule said Darnold needs to play in the system and seemed to be implying that Sam would skip over an open 1st read and go to the second instead of throwing to the first read.

In the pic above, it's possible the first read was Royce Freeman (or is that Chuba?), wide open, skipped though for the next read.  I can't say for certain if that play was to be read deep to shallow or vice versa though.

It's funny how we used to be a team that would seem to kind of sleepwalk through the first few weeks and then pick up steam as the season went on and now we're kind of the opposite.  This has a similar feel to other Panther teams that have started out hot and then cratered to me.

I mean who would take us over the 1-4 Colts straight up?  I wouldn't.

The Colts looked good most of the game vs the Ravens who would eat our poo and other games vs tough opponents it was pretty close like a 3 point loss vs the Rams who would obviously abuse our OL ffs could you imagine that poo.

Trouble is atm they have a depleted secondary and if you saw the end of the Ravens game they weren't covering a blade of grass.
