They are really pushing the Diggs shutdown Moore narrative

Diggs had a great day and he's having a heck of a season. Can't take that away from him.

Once he left the field, we marched at will. That's something Dallas should be looking at this week. The rest of their coverage is pretty suspect.

26-39, 66% completions, 301 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT for Darnold. Remove the Diggs stats from above: 24-32, 75%, 267, 2 TD and that's while under massive pressure. One guy did their heavy lifting.

well they entered 31st against the pass.

Are you implying that Sam is like Jake?

Playing style? Not really. Jake after 3 years was tedious and obviously an area we could improve in by attempting to upgrade, which we didn't because friendships and bad roster management. It was a point in Panthers history where we made the playoffs some but were not much of a legit threat after the first year, culminating is a very fun 2009 playoff game in Arizona. Very mediocre product. This team feels that way to me now, limited with some fun and great talents in spots. So the 2006 Jake comparison.

If they want to support Darnold, that line has to improve or they need to change it up. With who they brought in this offseason they are failing currently at that.

This has everything to do with Darnold and nothing to do with Moore.

Darnold needs to stop forcing the ball, and go through his progressions.

Yeah. Not sure what he was looking at with the 1st INT but that was bad.

The 2nd one was just a good play by Diggs.

That first INT, a couple things.

They ran that play a series or two earlier, but with DJ running the router instead of Robby.  DJ was open on the play, but Sam had a ton of pressure and overthrew it a bit.

I'll bet that when they talked about it they told Sam "This was open and we're going to go to it again".  I say that because Sam largely just locked on to the receiver.  He glanced once at the flat, but there was definitely no progression read there.

It's a shame too, because if he had followed the progression instead, DJ was WIDE (*@ OPEN deep.

Damn.   I think that was a case of Sam listening to his coach a bit too much, if that makes any sense.

How'd they leave?

Not much better because of the decision by Quinn to go Prevent and take Diggs out of the game. 🤷‍♂️

I mean those two TD drives basically negated the two INTs by Sam.

There was a top 25 WR list on nfl.com this offseason that completely left DJ off the list. The NFL doesn't really care about the Panthers or their players.

This is because we no longer have a flashy star like Cam Newton that draws media attention and we are a smaller media market team.  The only smaller market team that the NFL cares about is Green Bay, because they have a strong national following based in large part on having Rogers and then Favre before that.

Think about this for a moment:

Since 1992 the year before the NFL even awarded Carolina a franchise, the Green Bay Packers have for all intents and purposes had 2 quarterbacks, both HOF caliber. If Rogers plays one more year in GB next year at a high level, that is a single franchise with 30 uninterrupted years of top flight play at the game's most crucial position. Man, that must be nice.

And yet....despite having that huge advantage and what is generally regarded as at worst competent coaching and FO management, the Packers have still only won 2 Super Bowls in all that time, one by each qb. Just shows how hard it is to win a Super Bowl in the NFL. Especially when you don't cheat.

I'm going to chalk this entire post up as utter bullshit because the Huddle GMs have time and time again told us that a franchise QB is the only thing that a team needs to compete for a championship! 😮

It was also garbage time to the cowboys and they went prevent.

I agree he’s had an outstanding season so far. But DJ was the least of our worries, really hard to get a pass to him when you have a defensive linemen in your face in 1.5 seconds.

I don't disagree with you one bit on the problems Sam and DJ had resulting from our O-line being well overmatched. I was just giving the Devil his due in the Diggs efforts that night.

We move on and Diggs is now someone else's headache until we see them in the playoffs.
