I have my opinions and I'm not afraid to share them, but I'm always happy to be wrong if it works out to the benefit of the Panthers.

I am not going to sugar coat this. I have been on this here board for a long time. And this is the first time you have ever admitted to being wrong. And as you can tell by a lot of the responses, that is something I am not the only one aware of.

(Obviously you are as well. For you started your OP with "Now don't get triggered". So even you knew you had this reputation.)

It's all well and good that Sam has sorta "Changed your mind". But it rings hollow after months of you crapping all over him.

All most folks wanted was for the haters to give Sam time. Now, we are supposed to regale you because you have decided now is the time?

Well, here's a "Good Boy" for ya.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat this. I could literally not possibly care any less about what you think. And that you think this thread might have had any possibility of being created to get any credit from you or thode of your ilk is hilarious. It's just football conversation. I'm not seeking any validation from any "camp" on this forum and if my posting history is proof of anything, it's that.

Don't get triggered. It was just an honest critique of your posting history.

Haha, I temper my praise and what I feel about Sam’s’ talent and potential, because I know I’m just a little too close to homerism in my opinions of his talent and potential.  I love this kid dearly, as a man more than anything…..and no, not related or know him personally, but I know others that are very close.  Our former players founded their own football alumni club in 1956 (they even award two scholarships to selected former players pursuing an advanced degree), their club is very powerful and vocal, and one of the traditions they started, was that they wanted the players closer to the fans, so Salute to Troy was started so the players could sit and mingle with the fans for a BBQ, I’ve attended everyone, going back decades, so had the chance several times to talk to Sam.  There are other functions throughout the year.  Players are encouraged interaction with the fans and media the moment they step foot on campus.  They also wanted our band (annoying to everyone else) to travel with them to every away game.

So…my support of Sam goes well beyond the FB field, but equally passionate about his talent on the field.  Simply because I don’t come in gangbusters, doesn’t mean I’m less supportive.

Come in respectfully, gauge “the room” and listen to the fans on this forum, learn from them.  I have no right to come in any other way.

Sam has done well and exceeded expectations but he's not a franchise QB or top 12 QB yet, so we should still consider upgrading if he doesn't play himself into that conversation by the end of the season

Fairly reasonable statement and we've seen team with better forming QBs take that approach.

Patriots, Rams, 49ers, Packers, Ravens, and eagles have all done this to some success in recent memory.

49ers would be in a tough spot when Jimmy G went down if they didn't have Lance.

He's at the top of the league in many categories. I think what you meant to say is. "If he continues to play at this level. We got this". Because at this moment in time. Sam is the future at QB for this team.

Until Sam poos the bed. He is, and will continue to be, the QB of our Carolina Panthers.

You and I have been trying to get people here to give Sam a chance for months.  Sam has just had his 3rd 300 yard game with 2 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns.   He has the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL.

The crow casseroles are warming up and will be hot and ready by season's end.

That said, I think Joe Brady, the WR's and Sam need to get the time to throw down to 2.6 for Sam's safety.  He cannot take 5 sacks a game every game and no team in football holds the pocket longer than 2.6 seconds.    I'm sure they are working on this.

Now, I have no stats, or videos to prove this. But I feel like Sam starts the game getting the ball out rather quickly. But, as the game goes on, he seems to take longer, and longer to get the ball out.

I don't know if that is the play design calling for longer routes, or if it is just Sam. And maybe I'm seeing things. But I hope he can learn to get the ball out, and take what the D is giving him.

Because there is no denying. When he lets the game come to him, he is killing it.

Or, maybe let Walker play the 3rd quarter. lol

I agree (not on the Walker thing, but the rest of it.)  I'm not convinced the delay is all on Sam.  I know that it was 2.61 in the Jets game and it looked like he was getting the ball out faster.   Loss of CMC may have  played a role.  CMC's return will help with that I think.

Or maybe the opponent's DB's have figured a few things out by the 3rd quarter. They practice too.

Or the opposing DC has made adjustments and it's taking him some time to figure it out. Personally I think we should start the 3rd on a hurry up offense to get him going

Why not. What can it hurt? Of course most teams don't like to hurry up until you get a 1st down. Which we have trouble doing. lol

    • He made some excellent throws but he always has made some excellent throws here and there. I don't know what to think, which is what I was apprehensive about. Is he going to have a decent downfield game? Because okay Legette dropped one, but someone was giving stats prior to the bye or during it where he had two downfield completions and one of them was the jump ball that is just launched and fingers are crossed that our guy comes down with it, and yesterday we saw that again. The Russell Wilson school of downfield passing.  I don't feel like that is sustainable, but at the same time you have to do Something to make the defense understand they have to defend that downfield throws. Like i said, confused.  I guess I'm going to review the game for myself and look closely at his mechanics and stuff because if he actually fixed that stuff it explains the better throws. And that has been my biggest objection, or what I see as the thing that makes or breaks his chances, that unorthodox dropback and tippy toe action and not having his feet set which limits velocity etc etc.
    • The negative Nancy in me (or objective?) says that they had a bye week to prepare for the Chiefs. However, it’s one thing to have a good plan and it’s another to actually execute it. For all the flack he’s received (from me as well), Bryce seemingly has put his head down and worked his tail off and his play is giving me hope. The first 18-game Bryce showed no progression whatsoever. He gets benched, comes back, and has shown steady progress every week he has started. I think I’m starting to see what the Bryce lovers and unconditional defenders were saying all along, and I hope he can show that on a regular basis for the sake of our QB1 position.
    • Yeah, we could still very well end up 4-13 with the 2nd pick.   I think LVR has the inside track for 1, with only a JAX team as a team on docket that could be beatable.
