I like the trade. I think Bouye isn’t a key future cog. He’s dropped off a lot. Henderson let’s Horn come back healthy and maybe also saves us a lot of money next year or potentially have 3 really good CBs (assuming he works out).

Like @trueblade, my only concern is OL. If we don’t take the BPA OL in the first next year, we can’t take one until day 3 again. BC and Brown played well against backups/guys who didn’t make the 53, but we have yet to see them play against starters. We’ve got FA money but with DJ, Burns, etc. coming soon, we need to be smart. Again, still wondering if it was smart extending Robby before the season was over.

From 2 minutes of google research, it looks like we have round 1, 4, two 5's, a 6 and a 7.  I really think that we had an extra 6th and 7th from the Perryman and Little trades as well though.

I can see Fitterer and Rhule getting 2-3 decent players out of that. Also, I also think Christensen and Brown will be our starting guards next year.

I'm sorry but this is an absolutely ridiculous statement. Henderson is 22 years old and a former #9 overall pick. Sam Darnold is 24 years old a a former #3 overall pick. We got young talented starters while only losing a 2nd, and 3rd. If you told anyone we got Sam Darnold and CJ Henderson for a 2nd and 3rd they would fall on the ground laughing. We can't worry about what we may miss in the second and third. Get talented starters when you can. You may not have paid any attention to this last draft but Fitterer and Rhule know what to do in the draft. They will wiggle around and get more picks. Now isn't the time to worry about draft picks. Thats what losing franchises worry about.

Sam is a looking like a real-deal franchise QB.  That deal was a no-brainer.   It also wasn't a knee-jerk reaction to an injury.  Potential franchise QB for a 2nd rounder is a steal if it works out.  A troubled CB for a 3rd is okay, but we could as easily filled by going another route.  Dude was in the dog house in Jax.  Urban could be a prick or maybe there's something to it.

You may be right but it’s seems to be deep in OL talent which is where we have the most need.

IOL will likely be our 1st round pick. The OT class is very weak, lot of tweeners and guys like Evan Neal will be a top 10 pick and I don't even trust Neal is a LT. This draft will be very top heavy.

His reaction reminds me of when PJ Hairston thought he was drafted by the Miami Heat and then found out he was traded to Charlotte.

Yeah he looks pissed.  And his mother looks like she was laughing when they first announced it.

I trust Rhule's read on people...  and if they had the chance to interview him and such in the draft process, and still wanted him, then I believe it had to be he just didn't want to be in JAX.

Fitt's on the record with the opinion that there's a drop-off in the draft after the top ~15 guys. After that he sees a big tier that extends through the second round. At 3-0, it seems unlikely that we're too far into the top 15, if we end up there at all. A trade back in the first is likely.

Regardless, it is weird to frame this trade as happening at the expense of the offensive line specifically. We drafted an offensive lineman in the third round this year, remember? It's unlikely that anyone we draft next year will be more immediately ready than Christensen is now, and he's on the bench. Plus, it's all a zero-sum game, so you could just as easily look at it the other way; any offensive lineman that we draft represents a pick that we could've used to shore up the secondary. The secondary has been in about as bad of shape as the offensive line. We needed a lot of guys in both places. We got a really good one cheap in the secondary. That's not a bad thing!

Any idea what the issue was on JAX for them to have given up on him?

Seeing Jags fans saying there appear to be some mental issues. All offseason he would post strange cryptic tweets, some even described as borderline suicidal. Urban had to go to his house to talk him into even showing up to training camp. Also some injury issues. Missed half of last year with a groin injury. Just missed this week with a groin injury. Even with all that they still hate the trade.

Hopefully a change in environment will help and we do place high priority on mental health so that should help as well. He had been available for trade all offseason for a 2nd according to Jonathan Jones, but couldn’t find any takers which to me indicates the concerns were shared league wide because even a 2nd would be a steal for a top 10 pick just one year in.

Oh man. Next year the first rounder (if it isn't traded) already looked slated to replace one of Irving or #60, whichever position Brady doesn't take by end of the season. Considering Donte is probably playing his way into a nice payday, corner was probably already gonna be a need somewhere. Just....chef's kiss forward thinking. We NEVER used to do this poo. I think this front office is the real deal, yall. The past two drafts are also more proof

They even let Hurney make the Brown pick bc he hits on his firsts and drafted the rest of the players lololol.  Bravo, man

Nope, lost them via other trades, FYI.   Anyway, multiple 6th and 7th rounders don't make up for zero day 2 picks.
