I'm pretty sure both CMC and Horns injuries are due to new field

I know we all have been digesting losing two key players today but no one has really talked about this. Studies have shown both hamstring and foot injuries happen more on artificial turf than natural. I understand Teppers want to change because of many factors but he might have just caused us to see increased injuries as well as being really poor for the environment as well. Either way I just wanted to open a discussion about this.

Yes, a certain detail slipped your mind but you and everyone else seems to be ignoring the short 'week' for influencing at least CMC's injury. Maybe Burris too.

I too would prefer natural grass but "turf" has come a long, long way and the best surfaces offer excellent and safe playing conditions day-in, day-out.

Here's a great video about the surface put in by the Texas Rangers...

...I'd have to believe the football people Tepper put in control of this decision selected a system equal to or better than what the Rangers installed.

Maybe @Carolina Panthers can confirm what was chosen?

Good catch.

Last time I looked the info on what brand of turf the Panthers used had not been released...

...pretty interesting reading on their website -- lots of studies and all seem to show FieldTurf provides reduced levels of injury vs. natural grass -- the Appaloosa Model at work:

    • I'm hoping this or all 3 OL guys still being available and someone wanting their pick of the litter. But if fans know its a good idea i like to think GM's do too.  Talent from 6-25 are all close it seems like.
    • I do not yet trust our people to be savvy enough to pull off a trade that doesn’t screw us in the first and/or second round. With things looking like they might be coming together, they absolutely HAVE TO hit on a stud in round 1 and hopefully 2…  and hopefully hopefully unearth a diamond in later rounds. If they are to create a window, this draft has to go gang busters. This coming season looks promising, however, they have to go in to the 2026 season as the clear favorite to win the South.  ‘Windows’ happen for traditionally bad teams with the culmination of 2-3 really good drafts IN A ROW, snagging a good head coach and a few key free agent acquisitions. Busting on first and second rounds will destroy the chance of this occuring. Cokers don’t come around very frequently and haven’t even drafted.  There are contracts coming up in the next 2-3 years at the most expensive positions on the entire team. Bryce and Ickey. I know, not for a while, but good franchises have a long lens. If it comes to crunch time and Ickey hasn’t evolved in his pass blocking, do they drop mega $$ in his lap? Have they groomed someone that can step up? Do they happen in to a franchise LT and put press On Ickey to step his game up or he becomes trade bait?  In closing, at 8, screw need. No trade. Pick the guy who has future all pro dna.
    • Owning a sports team is now a billionaire’s toy now. The days of Michael Jordan or a Jeanie Buss owning teams are long gone.   I remember when people thought Diddy could afford to buy the Panthers, he would have had to sell everything he owned just to cover the $750 million needed to own only 30% of the team.
