Next man up: AJ Bouye & Chubba

The injury bug tonight was not kind to the Panthers. Claiming the hamstring of McCaffrey and the foot of Horn, they have lost some significant pieces to the team.

Going forward, without the threat of McCaffrey, it is likely Hubbard who'll face the bulk of the snaps with a few spells by Royce Freeman. With Hubbard's first half being thrown in the dirt and a revitalized second, it will be interesting to see which tale of two halves is Hubbard's true form. Additionally, will be interesting to see how Joe Brady adjusts.

Now, defensively, with Jaycee Horn looking to miss some significant time, it appears our secondary has opened up to some nasty holes. AJ Bouye rested, most likely to ensure he gets back to conditioning speed and open up better chemistry with the team. Will he be the stopholder this team needs to help man the CB spot with Horn out?

Perhaps Richard Sherman see the Panthers secondary as a boat in SOS and helps plug it up?

Hoping to see good answers going forward. It's a long week until our next test against the Cowboys.

What's y'alls thoughts on our next guys up? Think they'll be able to carry this crippled ship forward, or will the Panthers shipwreck and fall to the bottom of the ocean?

Good to see Saca posting again…and yeah next man up like Smitty said.  Perfect opportunity to show something for these guys

Got a little more leeway in my schedule to keep up with the Panthers a bit more this year. Maybe not enough time for the posts I used to make, but hopefully I get a bit more active in here.

Seriously, we already have a Davis type in Rolls Royce.  He is a solid all around back

Yep. Loved Royce Freeman's college tape when I evaluated him and compared him similarly to Jonathan Stewart. He has a lot of potential and I hope this team finds that and brings it out.

I actually think Horn is a bigger loss than McCaffrey. I feel like the team knew CMC wasn’t gonna last the whole season and that’s why they went out and claimed Freeman. Horn though, he was ready to step up and be one of the best CBs in the game. Hopefully he can heal up fast and come back this season but man foot injuries can linger on for years. Just as Olsen or Cam.

    • Trying to help those 3 folks who hate this move.    In 2025 2.75 million is basically the new "vet" minimum.    They still need #3 RB and returner, draft could/should be the lane for that.    There's no downside to this move, they could cut with little effect and replace with your chosen rookie.
    • Is it though? Even looking at just this past year, DK played 3 more games and had 81 more yards than Higgins had, but he also did it on less catches, with DK averaging 15 yards per catch and Higgins with 12.5. Yes, Higgins had 10 TDs to DK's 5, but I'd say that was far less about the WRs than the QBs, seeing as Burrow had 43 TDs (and only 9 INTs) to Geno's 21 TDs (and 15 INTs).  Swap the two of them last year and DK puts up better stats with Burrow as his QB than Higgins did, no doubt about it in my mind. DK has also only missed 3 games in his career, Higgins has missed 5 in each of the last 2 seasons. People here complain about our WR speed (and it's many people's biggest issue with T-Mac in the draft), but Higgins ran a 4.59 40 and DK ran a 4.33. DK has only played one more season than Higgins but he has 1,730 yards and 14 TDs more than Higgins, despite playing with the ghost of Russell Wilson and Geno Smith, while Higgins has had Burrow. To me, there is no debate, DK is a significantly better WR than Higgins.  Give him Burrow as his QB during his career and his numbers would dwarf what Higgins has put up.
