Man I love it but we're two games in. Can we pump the brakes a little?

That's fair when looking at the 2021 season thus far, but the article is very detailed and talks about our defense in 2020 as well.

The underlying message here is more about how NFL defenses (like any facet of the game) need to evolve in order to counter what the other side of the ball is doing and how Snow seems to be ahead of the curve in that regard.

As long as offenses don't figure it out and we can keep them guessing

Here we are doing the exact same ordinary corner blitz 3 times in a row:

Our formations can be odd, but that's not the secret sauce.  Its the epic talent on the line and man coverage on the receivers taking away the quick throws.  They have to go to total pass pro, removing at least one (TE) or two (TE and RB) pass options and they can't double team on the line leaving 1-1 match ups.  With 1 on 1s,  Brown, Daquan, and Nixon  are eventually going to get thru.

Really the only way out of this I can see is successfully running the ball.  Titans could be a problem for us, good thing they aren't on the schedule.  Fournette will need to have a good day when we play TB if they are going to beat us.

Why can't some of you people just chill and enjoy the beauty unfolding before our very eyes? We all get it, it is a long season and we know we won't dominate every team the way we dominated the Jets and the Saints. But is has been years since we have looked this way on defense and I for one an enjoying every minute. Some of you kill joys would find something to complain about if you won the powerball jackpot. What a miserable bunch of sad sacks.

Amen! Preach!

    • He can say what he feels, but he's not saying "the previous year, the team wasn't very good" he directly called his teammates out and in a way that is flat-out not true. "You are your record"? Oh ok, he's only had 3 winning seasons, but in my mind he isn't a loser, and I bet he isn't in his either - cause football is a team sport and wins and losses are on the team, even when one really bad player (Jimminy Pickles) can basically screw over everything.  And this comes on the heels of his thing about the MVP, which is fine, but also selfish. His teammates consistently went to bat for him... Just feels like he's more about himself.
    • Good point--I think this draft is great for us at this time--At the top of the draft, the DT (DEs/NTs in 3-4) are loaded.  The Edges are deep.  We need to double dip there--hoping to move back so we can add three players to that pool.  In free agency, if I were Morgan, I would focus on DBs and  ILB--fix the back end of the defense.  If he signed a S, CB, ILB, and TE, it would be cost effective.  In the draft, DE, Edge, and WR should be the priorities.  After that, OL Depth, QB depth, DB depth, RB depth.  My Free agent Targets:  TE: Juwan Johnson, Saints.  29, had over 500 yards with Saints. S: Julian Blackmon, Colts.  He will be one of the top free agents--gonna cost us, but not like an edge or WR. ILB: Tyrel Dodson, Dolphins.  80 tackles on just 854 snaps--under 27 years of age. CB: Mike Jackson, Carolina.  He is 28 and had 3 picks and was on the field at all times.  68 PFF score. NT:  best available for Evero's system.
