Muhsin Muhammad said he thinks he still has some years left of good football and isn't thinking about retiring.

Muhammad is flying high off his six catch, 91 yard performance last week. That was the most yards he's had since Week 4 of the 2008 season. Muhammad remains an excellent blocker but the Panthers sorely need a threat in his spot to take attention away from Steve Smith. Muhammad's contract is up after this season.

Until we draft or sign a receiver who's a better option -- or until one of the younger guys steps up -- Moose is the No. 2 receiver on this team.

He was one of the better No. 2 receivers in the league last year, especially in this offense. He hasn't played as well this year, to be sure, but neither has Steve Smith or the guy throwing to them both. It's a tough season to judge our receivers. If we were to go off of this year alone, then I don't know that Steve Smith would be deserving of the No. 1 spot.

Of course, Smith is without a doubt a No. 1 receiver -- but you get where I'm going.

I just read on Panthers.com that Moose has been playing with a torn hamstring for 13 yrs has anyone else heard this new before?

I find that hard to believe. It's not possible to play 13 yrs. straight in the NFL with a torn hamstring. If he did has one, wouldn't the coaches & trainers be aware of it before the season start? You know, health checkup or whatever.

And I wouldn't mind if Moose come back. He has shown against the Falcons that he can still play. For next season, I would like for him to be more of a Proehl WR type than where he is right now. :)
