Well if the Texans sit DW for a year voluntarily it could be a "time served" sort of deal if the NFL hands down punishment. Usually we don't see this type of thing.

Yep. At the end of the day they count up the wins not how you got em. We play who shows up and so do they.

So why don't the Texans make said announcement and force the commissioners hand?

Doing so would free up a valuable roster spot for say, Cam Newton...
