I think his deal was he has social anxiety disorder and the only way he could really be out there with his teammates interacting etc... was smoking it helped calm him down.

not saying it was a good reason/excuse to do it during the regular season, but I think thats just what it was.

Its been proven that weed affects your short term memory, thus affecting your ability to learn, thus the name dope. you will never be at the top of your game toking, believe me i tried to justify it.
