What if the Panthers drafted Chris Johnson instead of Johnathan Stewart?

Look people, I'm glad we drafted Stewart. Johnson can only sprint, evade & catch passes. And who exactly is that on our team? That's all Williams, who can also break a few tackles when needed. Stewart may be a little slower than Johnson, but he is a beast. He gets 1st downs & TDs when needed, especially through the D-line. If we had drafted Johnson, then we would have to Johnson as our evasive RB & use Williams as our power running RB, in which he isn't. Johnson's doing so well b/c he's running most of the snaps.

We needed a tough short yardage runner, not an explosive option. I still don't believe we have seen a 100% healthy Stewart in the NFL to this point, but even from what we have seen he's an absolute stud. Williams gets the rock between the twenties on first and second down and Stewart gets the short stuff and goal line packages. There couldn't be a more even way to handle these two guys.

If there is one thing that Fox and Davidson have perfected, it has been the two running back system. Neither player is hurting for carries and both players are being utilized for exactly what they are best at doing. You couldn't have custom made two guys with a better attitude to split carries than Stewart and Williams. They both respect what the other has to offer and they both celebrate the success of the other and do not resent the need for the other to exist.

I think we should look at Stewart and feel VERY fortunate that we didn't draft a kid with poor character that couldn't stomach the idea of not being the guy who gets the rock on every down. Stewart and Williams both know the advantage of having 15 carries while you're fresh and have your legs as opposed to getting 30 carries while grabbing your knees.

The absolute ideal running game perfected by two skill sets that compliment each other greatly.

Well say. The reason why Double Trouble is clicking because of DeWill & Stewart willing to work together. They didn't even care about the stats or who's the starter. All they want to do together is to help the team run & score some points to win the game. That speak for itself with how Double Trouble is still playing good as last year. Not to mention splitting carried can make them expand their careers longer compare to most RB that does the work more than the backup or whatever. Johnson on the other hands along with Doughboy White have some ego problem & Johnson seem like he want more carried than White. I can see the 2 are not going to get along well soon right there. Give me classy players willing to work together in Double Trouble than Johnson & Doughboy anyday.

I dislike the Titans only because of Chris Johnson and Lendale White. Those two are nothing but thugs. Did anyone remember when Johnson said he wanted to scratch "Smash n Dash" and have his own nickname: "Every Coach's Dream"...

1. That was one of the most self-centered, egotistical things I've ever heard an NFL player say.

2. The nickname has more syllables than his first and last name, therefore it is retarded.

...but what else can you expect from a douchebag like him.

Chris Johnson is not a bad guy. I have met him in person a few times as I live a couple of miles away from the ECU campus where he attended college. He played football with a friend of mine. Though he does think highly of his skills and speed.

Lendale on the other hand is an ass. A big fat ass. :D

I'm glad we got Stewart cause he fits our running style more than Johnson.

Though Johnson and Willliams could be a deadly duo. We will never know.

Goodson and D.Will could be a substitute to see how it would have worked.

It's not necessarily, just how people only seem to use the word when describing black athletes.

Just like how you never hear anyone but a white athlete described as "scrappy".

I have to agree with Joe on this one.

It's not about the word itself, it's about the way it's used, and the last several times I've heard it used in person it's definitely been racist, and the last several times I've seen it used on the internet, it's seemed racist.

However, I will qualify this with the notion that even though it seemed racist in every scenario, I don't think the people who uttered it had any bad intentions at all. I mean, how can you be racist towards black or white people and watch the NFL? There are just too many athletes of both races. I can see how racism towards any other ethnic groups would be possible, though.
