What if the Panthers drafted Chris Johnson instead of Johnathan Stewart?

I am assuming you yourself are Black. I am white and I guarantee if I went up to you and said that word in the exact same way you use it I would get punched in the face. Its not just bad in a certain context. That is the definition of hypocrisy.

and you would get punched.its a color thing, its things white people do with each other that blacks can't do.and vice versa. plus its two different words an hell ive had white people say the right form and it was fine. it really depends on how you use the word.

Give me an example of something a white guy says to another white guy that you can't use. There are some you shouldn't but there is nothing that is anywhere near the reaction using the N word. I think people that use it (including Black people) are just advancing racism. It will never happen but if people really want to end racism they have to change themselves and not expect everyone else to change for them. We all should stop using all racial slurs the world would be a better place for it.

I guess this is better suited for the Tinderbox but oh well.

Well I'm white and lived a good portion of my youth in Oakland, and then in Long Beach after highschool and I can say this for certain. If I say, and I'm sorry to offend anyone here, but if I say nigga around black "thugs" I've known since I was a pup, none of them take offense to it, but the second another black guy comes around that doesn't know me and here's me say it, I've got problems. Every one of my boys knows I mean no disrespect by it, and it's rubbed off on me after 12 years more than anything. But you can't please everyone. Hell, as far as I'm concerned when a brotha calls a white guy "white boy", it's meant with just as much underlying racism as any epithet a white guy could say. Just my $.02.

There's a lot more to a word than its literal definition.

Case in point, think about the ways in which black and white people use the "N" word.

I see where your'e coming from, but I wasn't talking about the literal definition.

Maybe, the place I've grown up in has been an exception, or I may just be a "young, naive" college student who has too much optimism for the world, but growing up, anytime someone said the word thug, it's wasn't to describe black people. It was more of a general derogatory term to describe someone as trying to act tough and BA, when in reality they weren't.

Example: (From one of the newer South Parks lol) Some Harley riders who think they're cool rebels, who don't take crap from no-one, when they are most likely just some guy having a mid-life crisis. Sorry to any Harley owners who are offended, this obviously doesn't apply to all. :D

Ahhh...the politically correct world we live in. Isn't it great? lol
