Let's see how that DL plays next week

from PFF...
Saints Offensive Line

New Orleans did not allow a single sack in the victory but surrendered 10 total pressures and two quarterback hits. Still, Winston was routinely given ample time to throw — an average of 3.14 seconds to release the ball. Tackle Terron Armstead is on track to pace the group in pass-blocking grade on first review of the film.

I think we're third for total yards allowed

10 pressures is a lot considering he only threw it around 20 times.  I actually think we will be able to pressure Jameis and force him into some bad decisions.

Zach Wilson completed 15 of 21 passes for 149 yards, a touchdown, and an interception when not facing pressure in Week 1 against Carolina.

No QB was pressured more often than Wilson in Week 1. The Jets offensive line was overwhelmed time and again against a middling Panthers front seven.

Leaving this here.

Said this in another thread but I went back and checked last year and it took 7 games for us to get 6 sacks last year. The secondary was credited for at least one coverage sack in that bunch today too, which was unheard of last year.

This is a significantly improved defense from last year. The dline has better depth, Reddick adds another pass rush threat, Tahir Whitehead is gone, and the secondary looks legit.

If our offense starts clicking we are a real playoff team.

    • More TDs last year in less games (double the TDs) and more yards per game. Those are some tough stats to brush aside. Career stats are good but we are wanting the player for what they are currently. DK had some drop issues too.
    • I’m going with Nick Emmanwori as the pick right now. Charlie Campbell has him ranked 5th on his post combine big board and another safety is needed.
    • That is ridiculous on several levels. First of all you have to spend 90% of your cap space every year so the idea you can just not spend it every year is against the CBA. Secondly your job is to assemble the best team you can for the fans players and team. Not to save money for the owner.  Third many players who are considered great underperform while others like Luvu and Jackson have overperformed. What about a  great player like Derek Brown who was injured and missed all of last year. Was he a waste of money?? Sure pay DK a fools ransom and hope he stays healthy. He didn't even get 1000 yards last year which averages out to 60 yards a game or play all 16 games.  And lets be real, Jones and Watson aren't  great but they aren't being paid that much either. Real glad you aren't the GM.
