Get a starting OL in the first. That solves a huge need. None of these QB's are lilely the guy. Getting desperate is what rhe Browns did during their almost 20 year period trying to find a guy.

We have to get better in free agency, as well but it isn't possible or reasonable to fix that OL next offseason. Too many needs.

BC and Brown....I mean....pardon me for laughing but I have less than zero hope for any OL that Rhule picked.

I'm not saying force a pick next year, maybe we wait until 2023 to draft a QB, and yes fixing OL would be huge but the Browns aren't a good example to use when talking about not drafting a QB.

Browns had one of the best LTs of all time and at times good OLs, it did them no good. Them trying to find a QB wasn't their problem.  Their problem was they weren't good at finding one.

QBs are almost always a reach in the draft, there will almost always be a better positional player available, the fact is though, that QBs are that much more important that you have to gamble to find one.

I don't know if there is a decent enough one this year, to make that gamble, but the front office has to decide that.

Reaching for a QB is a really bad idea. It rarely works out. I am very much against taking any of these QB's in the first. You can panic draft, it just results in wasted picks. Like I said, take the BPA(OL) and just figure out the QB situation in free agency.

I agree that the QB is the most important position but panic moves are how we ended throwing away valuable draft picks on Sam fuging Darnold.

Count me out on Draft Version of that choice.

trying to fix the QB situation in free agency (or by trading) is what caused this situation.

For most the part, franchise QBs are drafted by their team and drafted early.   I agree that it is a longshot, but finding one later or fixing a vet is a longer shot.

Sooner or later we need to draft one, in the first round, surround him with good coaching a good team and let him develop.  Maybe not this draft, but maybe the next one, or the one after that.

We tried to take shortcuts with both Teddy and Sam, it cost $50 in cap and multiple draft picks.  Time for the short cuts to be over.

I am also talking about Rhule not making personnel decisions anymore. That is Fitterer and the front office. That is the way it should be. Rhule gets input but he is not the final say anymore.

We also have the option to bring in a veteran QB.

If we go OL first I won’t complain, especially if we have a different QB.

Same thing as the OL drafting though, if we don't trust them to make good OL decisions in the draft, why would be in the draft for QB's?

So, eventually you gotta do something. I would rather focus on the OL in 2022 and grab a REASONABLE and EXPERIENCED veteran QB to tide us over until 2023. Not some ignorant Teddy contract or trade for some POS like Darnold.

There are literally plenty to of NFL teams that have done that in the 2021 offseason for starting or backup QB's. We just failed the most at it. It's a problem.

and you might be right, waiting until 2023 might be the smart move.

My opinion though, is that at some point you need to draft a guy early and let him develop and quit hoping for shortcuts.  You can't wait for the perfect prospect and the #1 pick.

I like 2023 because it is a huge QB FA class and if it ends up being a good draft class, we have a good shot at being able to get someone from somewhere.

Howell or Willis in the second if we are able to get back into that round.

Both are already familiar with playing behind a horrible OL (Willis sacked 38 times, Howell 33) so they’d be somewhat familiar with what they are walking in to.

Both are also very mobile and not afraid to use their legs. I think the intelligence factor is there is well.

Cross or Neal in the first.

Neal and Howell would be perfect. Hopefully we can find a way to get a 2nd back and Howell falls, and have a bad enough record to get Neal

Like who?
Most really good FA QBs don’t make it to market unless they are really old.

I just think sooner or later we need to draft our guy.
