Santoso shouldn't get comfortable because you can bet your ass a kicker will be brought in as insurance if not flat out as a replacement.

Needed to happen but I'm not gonna celebrate it. A seemingly good man lost his job and in his profession there's only 32 total positions that exist. I'd be more in the mood for celebrating if he was a long-term vet with millions in the bank.

Slye will end up kicking somewhere else.  Too consistent on KOs and too strong of a leg.

Yeah, you ain't grumpy. They already brought in one Kicker. I guess you must believe they are done. Right? That these guys aren't willing to upgrade any position at any time? 

 

In the last 2 years the talent level on this team has improved more than any other 2 year span in our history. And we just replaced our Kicker. I think it's only fair to give these guys the benefit of the doubt while they finish building this team.

 

But hey, that may be just me.

If he continues to miss FGs, and EPs, those other things won't matter.

He kicked at Minnesota.  He wasn’t a good FG kicker in college…they replaced him on FGs and he only punted and kicked off his last two seasons.  

He has bounced around the league for a half decade trying to kick.  Titans let him be a kickoff specialist for part of a season….and he had a very low TB %. 

why would anyone assume that he can be an efficient FG and KO guy for the Panthers based off that? 
 

He actually made a big improvement from year one of place kicking to year two. 81% FG's, 100% on XP's. I think Minnesota decided to move on because they had lost their punter and had another really good kicker on the roster(was a Groza award semi-finalist in his first season starting).

Yeah, I think that is just about maybe getting something for basically nothing(Perryman, Little) or the ability to bring in a guy like Santoso in a pinch. Rhule was pretty ruthless last year with cutting people too.

So now you are arguing with me by suggesting they go out and do what I suggested? 

yeah, cutting Slye is fine.  Now go find a kicker.
