Please tell me Watt isn't playing either. He already ruined one Quarterback of mine.......................

if they aren't even risking their 2nd string QB....I would imagine you will see the bottom of the Steelers depth chart from start to finish.

Heck, at this point I don't think Rhule should even bother playing the starters.  Our starters vs the guys the Steelers are going to sit on the bench or cut for a half?

I think the fringe guys with nothing lose and everything to gain are the most dangerous.   They are the least sound players and more likely to do something stupid and get someone hurt.   Seems like a pointless risk/exposure.    Obviously, all reps have injury exposure.  But if you aren't even going to rep them against comparable talent.....it gets harder to justify exposing them IMO.   I mean, I have seen coaches punish starters in preseason by keeping them in for an extra series to go against backups after disappointing.   But just playing a half vs backups would be some weird stuff.

Just a weird preseason.  Reporter asked him today about the talent/competition  disparity today and how he could actually get what he claimed he wanted with it.  He gave a non-answer.  As coaches do.

This preseason has sucked. Time will tell how this was managed. I feel like Rhule missed some early opportunities to get some actual in-game work and timing down for this extremely young roster that oh, by the way, has a brand new (potential bust) QB.

Just seems like a weird preseason all around, and we didn’t make the most of our opportunities. Playing the 1s in this game versus the Steelers scrubs is a waste of time and we gain nothing by doing it.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
