Rozier agrees yo 4yr extension

Terry definitely earned this extension. Has been an awesome player for Charlotte since arriving and seems to have built a good bond with the young core of players that have come in since Mitch got here. 

As long as this deal doesn't limit our ability to extend guys like Miles and maybe PJ next summer and in 2023 then I don't see much wrong with the contract. 

Part of changing the perception and building a strong culture is rewarding guys that have done it for you. This deal does that.

LaMelo and Miles are the franchise now but I'm honestly not sold on PJ as a core piece. Like Monk his talent/potential is obvious but inconsistent and I'm high on Kai.

Agreed. I think the long term plan with drafting a guy like Kai is to let him develop while PJ finishes his contract and then PJ walks and Kai steps in ready to take over that role.

Kai Jones is not as good as PJ right now and might never be…not ready to let PJ walk just yet.

I’m mean the writing is on the wall. Melo, Miles, and Terry are the young core of this team. It’s not a coincidence they were all at summer league together with Borrego. JB got his extension, now Terry, and I’m sure Miles will get his soon as well. Hayward is that veteran rock a young team needs. 
 

You can almost bet the team is going to try and use PJ as the main trade piece at or before the deadline for a big man who can contribute significant minutes.

Completely agreed, and they should, bc PJ is a clown and lacks focus.

PJ is going thru some personal poo (of his own creation) so this is a prove it year for him.. Miles will get extended.. And next year FA class isn't that good for players that would come here.. This deal was a must after losing Malik and Davante so I'm cool with it..

To be fair, PJ was also at summer league with those guys and in the team workouts. As was Jalen McDaniels.

this deal tells me ownership & front office loves Terry and how he carried us when everything went to sh*t at the end of the year.. they also don't think Bouknight will be ready for another few years to compete for starting minutes..

someone pointed out that Plumlee and Oubre's contracts are very tradable and we DEF have options come this offseason to makes moves to fit Miles under a new deal.. and then also next year - Batum's $9m comes off the books as well..

to lock in your PG, SG, SF & PF while cycling through journeymen centers is a solid model that current NBA championship teams have done in the past..
