Fitterer on potential contract extension’s

DJ is the first...

I'm thinking the second player is Burns or possibly Robby.  As I stated elsewhere, iI think if we extend Robby, it would be ideal nc then his contract should expire by the time TMJ's ready for his extension.

But, it would be super smart to get Brian locked up asap.  I've always felt if the player/agent are willing, it's best to sign them to an extension in the penultimate year of their rookie contract, rather than wait for the last year.

It would be amazing to lock in Burns for an extra 3 or so years before he explodes this season.

It’s Donte Jackson

Thats what I was thinking.  He was solid last year, he just couldn’t stay healthy with his toe problem.  Fitty’s Seattle history leads credence to the idea he prioritizes DBs.  Donte and DJ (hopefully with DJ being the one close to being done) are the two he’s talking about IMO.  We still have Burns for 2 years after this on a rookie deal.

Wow. I was right.  Kind of...   I'm thinking he means after DJ, though, right?

Yeah, I edited it after I posted that to include that part.  I agree.  Especially with Burns on the edge of superstardom and being a edge rusher..

He's gonna be pricey.  I'd like to try to strike early and possibly get a bit of a hometown discount if we could.  From how heavily his brother is invested in him being here, I know we'll have him long-term, I think it's just a matter of when and how much.

While I agree with his background lending itself to having a propensity for CBs, Donte doesn't fit the profile of the guys they drafted and retained.

    • Demetrius Knight is a steal at this point. He is flying under the radar but Luke Kuechly and Mike Rucker voluntarily brought him up in their interviews with the Panthers. He is smart, instinctive, and violent. There is a lot of chatter of Jalon Walker possibly being considered at 4 with Patriots and Jaguars at 5. If those teams are considering him at that high in the draft, we shouldn't complain picking him up at 8. Teams who interviewed Walker says his football IQ is equivalent to a defensive coordinator. I would be thrilled with Walker.
    • Getting a general one going in the main forum a week ahead of the draft. Take this all with a grain of salt.  This stuff usually ends up wildly different; but truths are peppered in.   Notes as of late: The common top-4, barring trades: 1-Ward, 2-Hunter, 3-Carter, 4-Campbell (I do wonder if NYG take calls) Giants are seeing Shedeur once more but still sounds like they're leaning Carter (Maybe trading up from 34?) Jeanty to the Jaguars is starting to pick up legitimate steam.  Vegas odds have dramatically increased, Brugler and a few others have switched him as their JAX choice at 5.   If that happens, the Raiders could very well be eyeing Jalon Walker Jets choice to come down to Graham vs. Warren vs. Membou (if all 3 end up available) Panthers have been linked to both UGA guys, mostly Jalon Walker.  Buuut do wonder what happens if Graham is there.
