Had an earthquake here this morning.

2.7 here in Morganton. Heard  a boom and the house shook.  Not sure what the boom was....at the time thought maybe a tree had fallen

Water tower? Though I don’t think a 2.7 could take down a water tower.

There is a water tower  very close to me.  Not a big one but gives my area water pressure. Will check my water when I get a break.

The ground. Is the boom. Earthquakes are wierd you can hear them coming.  

 

Had one in Alaska it was a rolling quake.  Heard it coming and the ground actually lifted like something was rolling underneath it.

It's wild in Burke County today. Just got a tornado warning alert a few minutes ago.

The earthquake this morning was weird. I thought a tree fell on the house or something. It was sharp loud jolt and that was it.

Yea....got that tornado  warning...fortunately nothing touched down.  The rotation got within a mile of my house.  Spent some of my lunch break in the hallway.  Weird day for sure here.

I didn't take the tornado warning stuff seriously. Just went on about business. I've been gone for years now but I remember growing up here. This area rarely gets extreme weather so they go way overboard when there's even the slightest chance. Breaking news! There's gonna be flurries! Better get your milk and bread! There's a small chance of a very weak, short lived funnel cloud! Take cover now! LOL!
