Jaycee Horn again - Improving

Don't get me wrong, I want Horn to be good . . . but that video . . . Horn had the leverage the entire time.  In a game, you simply don't throw that route.  Or the receiver options to an outbreaking route so the leverage works in his favor.

To be fair, it looks like a one on one drill.

Can't choose not to throw in a drill.

I mean, isn't taking away the receiver option one of the primary objectives of a cb?

Of course, but holding this particular rep up as evidence that Horn is "the answer" for us outside is ludicrous.

Agree.  That's why I don't think this particular clip is all that exciting.  Horn lined up with the right leverage for the route.  After that, not much to see.  Had the route been outbreaking or deep, we might have had an opportunity to evaluate something.

I'm excited and hopeful that Horn turns into another Gamble / Norman / Bradberry.  I want to see something special.  Something that really shows a spark of that potential.

We'll know a whole lot more in 11 days.

All indications are that Horn is going to be drastically better than Gamble, Norman, Bradberry or any other CB this team has ever had.  I think you may be setting your sights a little low.  How about the next Jalen Ramsey?

Hes got a lot more potential than Norman or Bradberry for sure. Gamble is a much bettee comparison and he's still got more upside

I would sure hope he has more upside than all of those guys - 23 years in the league between them and 2 Pro Bowls....at the #8 pick his upside better be 4-5 PB's at least and a few 1st Team All Pro's

Except he's apparently been absolutely smothering everyone he's covered so far in camp. Just like above, he's been making every receiver an ugly option for the QB.

There's been nothing in any practice to suggest he isn't "the answer" nor has there been anything to cause anyone to even doubt it.

Do we know it was 11 on 11 / 7 on 7 and not just 1 on 1?

    • I was going to make a thread about this, but @MHS831 would be one of the only ones to care. What about James Bradberry as FS??  He was playing some of it in Philly, but wanted be remain at CB......truth is he's too slow for that. But his football IQ would allow him to transition to FS. I think it could work...   Regarding Demani richardson I seen what you posted and didn't care about it. I thought he could and did play both, evero system is like many the safety are interchangeable. Like the LBs, need some safety insurance.    Ill add this since Ive barring my soul in here..... One minor beef I had with Dan&Brandt was they wavied Jammie Robinson and not Nick Scott who only signed for that year and was awful. (not to say Robinson wasn't..). My point is Robinson would still be here on the roster and he's entering his 3rd year. Just dumb to try and sneak Robinson onto the PS when Scott suck and has no future here......rant mode off....
    • Don't piss in our cheerios!  Let us enjoy this delicious run we are on right now.  Kooch and Freddie are actually playing very well.
    • Without Special Juan and Carolina Livin we'd be much dumber than we are right now.  Serious Note:  Anyone heard from Mr Scot?
