$583k for an 80,000-seat stadium

Tiger Stadium is an odd one. City of Detroit owned it, and some soccer people approached the city wishing to convert it to a soccer venue. Even though it was a baseball stadium, it had a look that soccer fans tend to like. The Friends of Tiger Stadium, simply hoping to save part of the stadium, were thrilled that someone wanted to keep it in tact and got behind the soccer group.

The Tigers owner got involved, even though his team had departed the stadium and he hadn't done any upkeep on it since the early 90's -- the deal was Detroit would pay the running costs while he managed the venue -- and threw a huge fit. He didn't want Tiger Stadium competing with Comerica Park for money, in fact, he's so jealous of other teams that he intentionally angled the new park so that Ford Field isn't visible -- and you KNOW you have personal issues if you're jealous of the Lions. I think it's the only MLB stadium that faces south.

    • Preach brother.  We have motherfugers in here advocating for danny fuging dimes.  This is how low we have fallen.   His career stats. 24-44-1 With 9 wins his highest ever.  With Barkley 64% 14000 yards passing going over 3000 just 1 fuging time 70 tds 47 ints to go along with 50 fumbles.  50 fuging fumbles   In short he has 1 season over 5 wins.  1.   You mothers are insane if you think he is a good option
    • He's 28, has a great skill set, perfect size and at 6-5 230, pretty dang mobile.  Andy at 38 is probably not coming back--my guess--and Jones needs a change of scenery--The Vikings, Bucs, Seahawks, Lions, etc. found starting QBs in other team's garbage--two of them from our garbage. the system, coaching staff, etc. makes a difference.  I think Jones is a head case right now--if you played behind the OLs he has had and had his WRs--now without Barkely in the backfield-- he has never had what we have here.  I would not make him plan A, but I would bring him in as the backup and draft a guy to compete with Bryce.  That is about as good as you can do in the NFL.  Jones' contract might be an issue--I don't get into that stuff too much.
    • If we could get Danny Dimes for a dime... I'd be happier with the dime.
