Players have agents and lawyers to balance the power and eliminate coercion.

If you're offered a bad contract, don't sign it.

If you sign it, be prepared to fulfill you end, if you want to be paid.

So if the team offers a player say a five year contract, I want to see you howling like crazy when the player is cut after three years because the team did not fulfill their end of the bargain.

Teams have the ability to terminate contracts. Players have the ability to utilize the media and threaten holdouts. That's the way this works.

Personally I'd kick the tires on Rodgers.  He might be getting a little long in the tooth but he could likely get us by until we managed to draft his replacement somehow.

Rodgers is mending fences with Green Bay.

Players have a right to speak out/sit out and teams have a right to cut them. Look at GB scrambling around trying to appease Rodgers and it’s all acceptable via their contract.

An acknowledgement that the only avenue a player has is to utilize whatever leverage he may hold. The team will always hold the leverage of being able to terminate the contract. Barking to the media, threatening to hold out, actually holding out, up and retiring like Barry Sanders or Calvin Johnson. That's the only real leverage a player holds yet you act like they've committed this grave dishonor by actually utilizing any of that leverage.

Each only holds the "leverage" afforded them in the contract they mutually agreed to.

So you're position seems to be the players signed a crummy deal...

...whose fault is that?

Whomever it is, that's where your anger and efforts should be directed.

Hint:  It ain't the owners.

Certainly seems that something is amiss in GB.

Or this could just be the beginning of a new chapter in the nfl in the age of pandemics and vaccines. More and more players are getting ideas of their own. Much like with how Watson tried to hold the Texans over a barrel Aaron Rodgers has followed in those footsteps. Deshaun was just arrogant to think none of his activities would ever come to light or could be used against him. Rodgers for whatever people may think about his personality doesn't have that baggage. Now he reaps the rewards. I don't think we have seen the last of elite quarterbacks pulling these stunts.

What other team has multiple key players voicing displeasure? Sure, there are always some vets angling for new deals or otherwise expression displeasure across the league every year, but when there are multiple key players on one team something is probably up.

This makes no sense.

Question, do you believe Deshaun Watson and Aaron Rodgers signed bad contracts?

Only of the player agreed to give them that right, in the contract.

Absolutely they do. They can scream, pout, whine, jump up & down all they want...

...in no way does this sort of juvenile behavior obligate the team to react or modify the contract.

Off to play golf with some rich guys, seeya later 😘

You think there is some resentment in the locker room? These are grown men but it stands to reason not everyone who may just be trying to get that next contract and maintain their career will be thrilled with Rodgers who has already accumulated a fortune over the years.

Seems likely. When there are multiple players unhappy something is usually amiss in the organization or within the locker room.

Your logic is very one sided. It's fine for the team to exercise their leverage, but the player is juvenile to exercise his.

A psychologist would have a field day with you. Enjoy your day of caddying.

Teams have every right to cut a player, if players don’t like that should ask for 100% guarantees.

Players have very right to not report and be unhappy about their contracts.

Right or wrong this is the current CBA that they both agreed upon.

Would not surprise at all if the owners tried to implement a rule in the next CBA that a player or team could not renegotiate any deal until one year left in their current contract. if that was to happen you might see a lot of players looking for shorter term deals so they can take advantage of rising salaries.

    • One has a proven, offensive-minded, Super Bowl winning head coach along with a top 5 OL + defense. He's being protected and getting the ball back not having to chase the other teams. The other had Frank Reich + Thomas Brown their rookie year with a bottom 5 defense as well as a bottom 5 OL that gave up the 2nd most sacks against a rookie QB ever. The sophomore season is being ran with a top 5 OL but also with a rookie HC (that has just one year of OC experience) and a bottom 5 defense still. The Broncos defense has allowed over 20pts just three times this season (26 vs. SEA (L), 23 vs. LAC (L), 41 vs. BAL (L)). Meanwhile, the Panthers have had ONE game where the defense gave up less than 20pts (vs. NYG (W)).   I'm not sure how folks couldn't expect Bo Nix to statistically perform better given their incredibly different situations. With that said, I didn't expect Nix to keep ascending as impressively as he has this season. Hopefully his arc will give other older college QBs a better shot, especially given the recent media blitz against the NFL regarding how development of the QB position in the league seems to be non-existent. Hopefully Bryce continues to improve as well, of course.
    • “You can learn a lot in 10 games,” Nix said. “[I’m] still learning, still growing, but just finding ways to execute the play that’s called, no matter what it is: run play, pass play. It doesn’t matter. Just finding the right way to go with the ball.” To that point, Nix noted how his developing partnership with head coach Sean Payton has helped Denver’s offense get to the next level. “To be honest, I think at the beginning, you kind of make the NFL bigger than what it actually is,” Nix said when asked where he feels he’s made the most strides. “These players are really good, but at the same time, you have really good players on your level. I think simplifying the game, trying to play as fast as possible, and finding a completion, which is what we’ve been able to do here recently. “I think as we’ve gone on, Coach and I have found a good rhythm of what we both like, what we can kind of put out there on the field, and what we can execute. Then the guys have kind of adapted to it, found our roles within the offense, and executed at a high level. It’s just all about slowing the game down and processing things in a manner that you can handle. Just kind of see one or two things, and let those guys take you to where the ball is supposed to be.” -Bo Nix From what I'm gathering regarding Bryce, the Panthers entered this season with a reset mindset. It's Young's rookie year, which explains the benching. Now, we're beginning to see the development of Canales and Young's offense. Slow development but we're winning 😃
    • Bix has more tds through his first 11 games than bryce has his entire career....no comparison at all he made amazing throws during his first games his decision making just keeps getting better.  Young does not have the physical ability ro make the rhrows bo makes
