...both sides agreed to a detailed and legally enforceable contract, a contract that does not contain a "my feelings are hurt clause"...

So... you're getting off on that. Just like you would if a player is released (in which case the team would be failing to uphold the contract they entered into).

Anytime you see the "strong man" winning you get off on it. It's weird.

the hypothetical Watson that existed pre-scandal was worth selling the farm for.  

the actual Watson that exists now carries too much risk to acquire IMO

I expect a payoff is coming for his current situation.  But that won't actually close the door on that chapter.  Could easily get re-opened after this group is paid off.

The the Texans asking  price will be some combination of 5 high draft picks and starting caliber players, per two league executives for Deshaun Watson, so that would rule me as out as a bidder if I am a NFL team owner..

It's not 1 case. It's 22 separate unresolved cases. He could be more, a whole lot more, and he may be.  But right now, from a  business standpoint, you can't give up 3 years of number 1s and some 2s, starting caliber players, 50m in salary cap and dedicate a roster spot on the hope that this isn't true. I don't think for 1 second Watson is ignorant. Bringing in dozens of massage therapists and going as far as to fly them in, if nothing crazy is going on, record that poo.

I’ve never had a problem with a player letting a team know he wants a trade. If I owned a team I wouldn’t want to be paying out millions of dollars towards a player that doesn’t want to be there, especially when I can get some assets in return.

It’s more of a panic out of being wrong. The guy was convinced Julio wouldn’t be traded and Watson would be forced to play. Julio didn’t pan out as he wanted and now the Texans are willing to trade Watson. He is lucky Watson got into legal trouble or he would have already been traded by now. Oh yeah he also didn’t think we would unload Teddy…

This would be an impossibility since NFL teams are contractually required to perform up to the terms they and the player agree to.  There is no "we're just not gonna live up to it" clause in any NFL contract.
