not a lot of news here, but a great breakdown on our cap.

"At the end of the 2019/20 season, few NBA franchises appeared to be in a worse spot than the Hornets, who won just 23 games, missed the playoffs for a fourth straight seasons, and didn’t have any young players with legitimate star upside on their roster.

The Hornets didn’t snap their playoff drought in 2021, but a year later, their outlook is considerably brighter. That turnaround can be attributed in large part to nailing the No. 3 pick in the 2020 draft. LaMelo Ball became the NBA’s Rookie of the Year and looks like the best bet of any 2020 draftee to eventually make an All-Star team.

I will never understand how it seems like any other NBA team can acquire players at will but we're almost always capfuged.

We aren't cap fugged.. we'll have around $20m in cap space this offseason.. and we just have to spend it wisely

We are finally in a place where we don't have any Bloated, worthless contracts on the books (MKG, Biz, Marvin, Plumlee, Zeller, Batum).. and since Mitch has been 'hitting' in the draft with good players - we have to make tough decisions with retaining the correct young assets we have drafted..

In actuality - we only have 5 players with fully-guaranteed contracts this upcoming year:
Ball, Rozier, Hayward, PJ and Bridges

We good..

We may be good by typical Hornets standards but by NBA championship contending standards we are pretty bad. Lakers fans are out here talking about acquiring Damian Lillard while they already have Lebron and Anthony Davis. Hornets fans are talking about literal who centers.
