FWIW, I'm the same way. I cheer like crazy when we score/do something amazing. But if we're on the four trying to keep them out I'm too busy wringing my hands, bouncing around, and generally freaking out with worry to cheer...

Don't know if I am to nervous to cheer, but sometimes when I get to focused on the game in a really important part, I forget to cheer.

The lady who sits behind me in section 136 comes from Ashboro NC to almost every game. She reads a book and complaines when the fans stand and cheer, then leaves at the beginning of the fourth quarter. She has been doing this for 14 years.
