At this point there is only one media day a week. Next one is Wednesday.

Damn I can’t wait for training camp this year.  So many battles going on and so many interesting stories.

I can’t wait for the pads to come on and see the Oline battles to start.  Really pulling for guys like Brown and Moore play well.

Also really want to see Marshall be unleashed.  I am really high on him.

Hmmm, you must've didn't see when they did that to me, huh...took one of my quotes and said fixed...

They were trying to point out what you were really saying.

You are trying to change what someone else was really saying to you.

Big Difference.

Nope...I want this club to see it's not as easy as they think to replace a franchise QB...

Cam was on his last, yeah but those first few games he had in the beginning made me really question the FO. Then the way they handle things with Teddy. You don't share that information with the public until you secure a replacement. Now, all your top choices are either traded or going through a lawsuit and you can't backtrack on Teddy so you go out and get S.A.M. At first I was like ok, in case we can't draft Fields/Lance/ hell even Jones, maybe that's insurance. But to KNOW they are all in with S.A.M, and I just got PSL tickets for XMas...smdh. So now I gotta watch this live, omg. I like PJ more, undrafted, played behind Luck, went CRAZY in the XFL, like any real NFL player should. Then his mother dream when he played for the colts, about him starting for the Panthers and winning...I just love when dreams come true.

THAT is your reasoning for liking PJ?

You do you, man.  🤨

So you want the team to lose because you're mad about Newton.

Besides being lousy fanhood, that's some really dumbass reasoning.

Yeah, definitely not onboard with that. I would've greatly prefered a Montana/Young or Favre/Rodgers type situation. Those are just very rare. Most teams go through a period of flailing after having a high level franchise QB. That's just the way these things usually go.

So with that comment I will take it that there is something to Robbie not being at OTA’s.

Yeah they are probably trying to trade him.  They must be hella high on Terrace Marshall.  I get it though, if you think you can replace a guy making 8 million a year, with a 2nd round rookie, then why the hell not?

Marshall hasn’t taken a NFL snap yet, much less a NFL tackle. His injuries worry me enough not to make a recent 1000 yard WR expendable...  Also if Julio is valued at around a 2nd as the rumors are saying, what could be possibly get for Robbie? A 3rd/4th? I think giving Shi and Marshall a year behind Robbie would be best. Now if he is demanding a trade or extension, that’s a different story...

No, I'm not mad about Cam.

I was curious to the decision, as time had passed, and he started off looking good I was more so questioning the team's direction. Teddy wasn't doing as much, but by season end I didn't mind losing Cam. Could've saved some money had he stayed but paying Teddy for one year lol, I'm happy we were able to get out that contract, big ups to Fitterer on that.

I have to think this is coming from the Robby camp. From the Panthers' perspective, we're trying to resurrect the career of a QB. Robby is still a fantastic value at his cap number. Marshall was drafted to be his replacement, but he's still a rookie and has a not insignificant injury history. I just don't see any reason why the Panthers would be actively trying to part ways with him by their own choosing.

Hell, Marshall may have been drafted because this had already been going on behind the scenes and they knew Robby wouldn't be here long term due to what he was asking for.

I like him more than S.A.M, once again the potential is there if you look at his XFL stats.

I'm on this train too. With S.A.M. coming in, seems like Robby wants out....I believe last year's Twitter feed explain how much he wasn't a fan of Darnold's

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
