I don't see them having that kind of dynamic.

When you watch the video of the two of them together, it looks like a really good working relationship.

Fitterer definitely ran the draft.

interesting take.

In the video, he did seem to have a really good relationship with Rhule.

We noted his apparent nervousness in his introductory (?) presser, but at the start of the video you mentioned, it showed at the beginning Tepper telling him "you're in charge" or something to that effect.

I think Fitt took that as a vote of confidence, but I wonder if Tepper needed him to feel that.  I mean when you're dealing with personalities as strong as David Tepper and Matt Rhule, I'd be damn nervous too.

In the end, I think he was pretty nervous but settled in as he went through his process during the draft...."trust the board."

And afterword, he was given a lot of praise for his work.

Now, the players we chose have to pan out.  Lot of injury concerns,  lot of off the field concerns, but we got a haul of players that Matt likes, willing to learn, coachable, and fit the mold of the team he's trying to build.

We'll see, but I do feel good about most of these guys.

He seems a bit nervous in front of the microphone, but he’s been around the NFL for a long time and has worked his way up.  The Camp Confidential footage of the war room really showed him in his element.  I wanted the guy from SF but I like most of what he’s done so far.

I would always rather have substance than style. Lot of guys sound great but suck at the job. Glad he actually knows his stuff

No doubt.  Results over sound bites any day.  The way they navigated the draft was quite impressive.

To me the success of the draft will be determined by how many of the 12 guys make the roster. If a bunch do and provide depth then awesome. If we kept trading down to get picks that don't make the team then the strategy of quantity over quality was not a good one. In either case you do have to give the FO props for still finding good value throughout the draft. There is a good chance many of these guys make the 53 or at least the practice squad. Another way to look at the depth of our draft will be to see how many guys get poached off our practice squad from the guys we drafted.

Thats a GREAT get. The Seahawks top scout. Mr. Scott, do you know if Jeff Morrow is still staying around? I love his experience.

Morrow is reported to be taking a reduced role. Joe Person described it as "a senior advisory role on the college scouting side".

Despite his title (Executive Director of Player Personnel) Morrow was basically Director of College Scouting for the last few years. But the Panthers just gave that job and title to Washington scout Cole Spencer.

In the NFL, moves like this frequently precede someone retiring. Makes me wonder if Morrow is going to spend a year helping Spencer get to know the scouting director job and then retire.

...there's something I've noticed about new GM Scott Fitterer.

He seems really comfortable with being in charge.

A lot of new GMs have a little trouble with the transition from being one of the assistants in charge of whatever to being the guy in control of everything. That just doesn't seem to be the case with Fitt.

Who does he report to?  Any confirmation yet from inside on that?
