NFL Network Ad for Thurs nite

OMFG! Can we stop talking about how Miami "invented" the wildcat? Hello!! December 24th, 2006. Weinke attempts 7 passes. DeAngelo Williams gains 82 yards and Dan Henning introduces the NFL to the "wildcat". I'm sick of this Miami wildcat crap.

BTW, Thursday will be my 3rd Panther game in 12 days.

OMFG! Can we stop talking about how Carolina was the first to use the Wildcat? Hello!! It's been used for years and years. Poppa Henning may have started the trend in the NFL, but by no means did we invent it, start it, bring it back, or shock the world with it. I'm sick of this disrespect crap.

BTW, Thursday will be my 55th Panthers game.

;)

I think they were talking about the "WildCat" when they said here kitty, kitty.

I'd like to say "this", but have only seen the ad twice, with the sound low, and haven't even noticed the "kitty kitty" line. But I'd tend to agree, since we're the HOME team, that when they say "the Wildcat comes to Carolina", the kitty kitty part means "bring it".

There's 2 versions of the commercial, the longer version says the kitty kitty line.

You know, my first year playing high school ball back in 1975 they taught us the wildcat offense. Of course he called it the single wing, but hey, he wrassled up the road at the civic center on the weekends and I was never sure he had the right name for it. Then the coach went on to teach us the modern plays we were really going to run. You know, like the power eye formation, wishbone triple option, formations with a split end and a flanker both (omg! at the same time!??!), things like that. We also ran a 3-4 defense, of course my dumbass coach called it a 5-2. Same exact responsibilities except the OLBs were called DEs, even though they had contain, coverage and rush responsibilities. We even ran Buddy Ryan's 4-4 defense in run biased situations, of course the coach called it a 6-2. Yup, the panthers need to "modernize" their schemes and switch to the wildcat and a 3-4 defense.

Sincerely,

Al Bundy's older brother
